The local launch of the Ford Focus RS is taking place today, and the automaker has released final pricing for its hyper hatch.

So, here it is: the all-wheel drive hatchback bears a price-tag of R699 900. Optional extras include Recaro seats (R1 890), a sunroof (R6 870), and metallic paint (R750).

Ford Motor Company of SA says that just 300 units have been set aside for the South African.

Seeing this now but the Euro & of course SA Focus RS models don't have a "Focus" badge.

The US counterparts do...

If I had to take a guess (stab) it's to do with brand (model) awareness.

Every one in Euro countries know what a Focus is. In the States not nearly as much.

What is it with ppl and there obsession with 0-100 acceleration , 1/4 mile times etc.For me its about presence.Thats why mustangs , old school subaru sti's etc are king.

The Ford Focus RS has a recommended retail price of R699 900. The options are scarce as the car is fully inclusive, but for R1890 you can get the Recaro shell seats, a power sunroof will set you back R6870, metallic paint costs R750 while RS blue Brembo brake callipers and gunmetal alloy wheels are both no-cost options. Ford South Africa is bringing 300 units and based on one day's drive, the car is worth every cent.

The vehicle comes with a 4-year/120 000 km warranty, 5-year/unlimited kilometre corrosion warranty, 3 years’ worth of roadside assistance and there’s a 5-year/100 000 km service plan with intervals every 20 000 km.
