Indeed, sounds like a good plan for lunch. Has anyone tried Inbox? The new mail thing from google? It is pretty sleek and sexy.

Tried Inbox for about a week, but uninstalled it. It's a nice concept but I really don't need two mail apps and Gmail handles all my email accounts now so I don't need another app for Gmail only.

What are they trying to accomplish?

Inbox is the experimental one - they're not sure yet that people will like the ideas enough to replace GMail completely.

That's why you can use both and they both work and they are compatible. Guess they're monitoring how many people keep using it and if the demand increases.

Also why they're limiting the rollout to early adopters (i.e. everybody with enough savy to get an invitation) first . To adopt a product to the mass market you have to get a bunch of early adopters to use it extensively first. This way they limit the negative reviews (and thus feedback) to people who are actually interested in the idea rather than the general public.

Seems as if Google does do a staggered roll-out. some of the oaks in the office do not have it yet either.

Also loving the new GMail app, but really looking forward to the new Calendar app (the current Google one sucks major).

I like Inbox but I've tried using both on my phone and it doesn't work. I don't get any notifications of new mails if I have both installed.

It worked fine on my phone, got two notifications when new mail arrived.
