We're in the process of forming a new guild. We'll consist of a number of people who are quite sick of the typical generic excuses of guilds that exist out there. They're large, yet inactive, boring and impersonal.

As a result, we plan on staying small and active. That way we'll all be ensured a personal and active experience. One of our first missions will be tackling Eye of the North dungeons together.

If you'd like to join, PM me and I'll get you in touch with the leader. Remember...we want active members. If you plan on logging in once or twice a week, this isn't the guild for you! Hope to see you in-game.

You aim sounds like what I have for my Guild.
We are small and active. We are very experienced as well and have members from all over, however with the EU summer, activity is dwindling and finding active members are not very easy. It doesn't help advertising either for active members, because being active means different things to different people. Unless of course you tell them what you expect.

I created the guild to do all the 'important' stuff together (Dungeons, Titles, HM, Elite missions, etc) and not have new players asking for help the whole time in Guild Chat. We actually want to get stuff done!

Good luck! :)

Then why don't you join up in alliance with Lydon :)

Who many members are in your guild Lydon?

And in yours Lil?

I am looking for an more active guild....

I have Gaurdian and protector titles for NF and Factions, working on proph.

I have only been playing for a year.

How long does it take to become an officer in your guilds?

Our guild doesn't exist yet. We don't want to start up without having a number of active members guaranteed. Guilds tend to fall apart if they start up without having all their ducks in a row, which we don't want to happen in this case.

I'm not the leader, but I will PM you guys with the details of officers/the leader who can then answer your other questions such as the amount of time it takes to get promoted to Officer etc. I'm the mybroadband recruiter :D

We are in 2nd biggest ally on Luxon side atm... we may be switching back to Kurzick soon again. So ye, not too stuck in this regard.

In my guild there are 10 members. I posted in another thread about my guild.

Me and 2 other guys are very active, 2 other guys are taking a bit of a break, we have been playing together for a long time now.
We have another SA guy in the guild, so we have 3 guys from SA, used to have more, but most have stopped playing for more than a year already.

Me and another guy have quite a few titles. We also do most things together, especially the big stuff. For instance, the new M.O.X hero we completed all the quests on the first try ;)

I don't have hard and fast rules for people making Officer. Officers must be responsible and not the brat in the Guild. I just need them to be active and understand what the Guild is about and get more people, if we need them. Then I might try again myself, but recruiting alone doesn't work. Recruiting is not a simple task. It is very time-consuming.

Unfortunately fate seems to be against us, as the idea has no fallen by the wayside. We just couldn't find enough people willing to be active to justify the creation of the guild. Think we managed around 8 at most.

Most have decided to move on to Warhammer and Aion when they are released and play Guild Wars 2 when it comes out. Sadly it looks like Guild Wars is on the decline now :(

Nice, I don't play that much any more.. playing d2:o and trying to study :p

I was just looking for a more active guild with some noobs and some pro players... but it seems GW is on its death bed... Cant not wait for GW2 :D:D:D

If anet stopped with the nerfbat GW would be far more active than it is now, the amount of players that stopped just due to the loot scaling change, followed up by the duping bs

I don't even recognise half the skills anymore they have changed that much :(

Yeah but the nerf is good for pvp.... otherwise you can just think what would happen in pvp Alliance Battles with 12 players with perma shadow form....

But I think they have a nice idea now with the pve skills and the pvp skills differing a bit :)

And yes the loot scaling sucks!

Our guild members take clothes off and dance in Lion's Arch (America 1) on Thursday nights.

Dude, I played from 2 months after release, have seen so many changes and nerfs it's stupid, but a-net have made it so generic over time that the fun is gone :/

What really put the nail in the coffin was the recent gvg changes re doors etc, i log in now to see what mini's I have got

My guild started off nicely, but now the only active members are me and my officers ...

Most of the time noobs join - play for a couple of days and then disappear - its annoying. But me and my guildies are all locals, some of us know each other, so we have our fun. I'm sticking with GW til GW2 is released

Got a bit bored of GW after a year of playing.... Had all the missions+bonus in NF and Factions done in HM and NM and most other non-grind titles :)

Now I just log on to help others or do a bit of pvp....

Can not wait for GW2 !!!

Still going strong myself. Still lots to do and the nice thing is, nothing is new anymore. I know what to do by now after 32+ months :)
It is basically the title hunters left in the game.
There are still new people starting every day, which is also strange, to a degree.
We are Kurzick now and will be joining an alliance soon. We should be able to get into 2nd or 3rd biggest alliance. These alliances are very busy and chat is always active which is nice, since the other alliances that are not very big, have no drive and simply die with nothing happening in the alliance chat.

I can understand why ANet are changing and applying changes to certain skills. It makes sense. There are skills that are just too strong and then others again never get used and then after a buff you see them being used in builds, after being in the game for 2+ years without seeing any use.

The PvP / PvE skills split was way overdue, they should have done this from the beginning. SF was way too strong in PvP and also in PvE, after the buff on the enchant length. Every class could farm with perma SF. Ecto prices dropped to less than 4k each. This is not good for the economy, since ecto is a currency being used.

They recently buffed Visions of Regret. The buff was because this elite was almost never used in any builds, cause... well, it was useless. This is now the preferable build in certain pvp arenas. With this build whether you do anything or not, you take damage, simply due to your skillbar you are running with VoR. If you have VoR and Backfire on you as a caster, you take +-250damage with the use of a single skill. if you see a mesmer in RA / TA / AB, you can put a safe bet on them running a VoR build.
They will be nerfing VoR tonight a bit I bet because of this. This past weekend with the arena bonus, these guys wreaked havoc. I was almost tempted to play my mesmer and go and cap the freaking thing (since I don't buy the tomes) to pwn someone with this build. Cause, you know, it rawks to see 250 dmg in a single action. ;)

As far as the loot scaling goes, it is not that bad and did not impact me that much. It was aimed at the gold farmers / bots, and they have done this very well imo. There are still lots of people that does farming on a daily basis.

Just check the raptor cave outside of Rata Sum on double-drop weekends for sweets / booze. People farm this spot during normal times as well, for gold drops, bones, etc.
It is how and where you farm that is the difference. If something gets killed or changed which affects you, then change or find an alternative.

Nice little expo there :)

I've started going to the raptor cave to do a bit of farming ... I'm busy working on a solo build - it's a case of almost but not quite ...
