New hate speech bill opened for public comment

I can't help but notice how convenient it is to stop talking about the racist white government and only find our moral compass when we have a democratic government, it's really too convenient for my liking.

I agree that not all white people supported the NP and apartheid, but fact is we have white people who supported apartheid, we have white people who never supported apartheid but who weren't bothered enough to actively do anything about it, after all life was good, we have white people who were young at the time as you allude, and we have white people who actively fought the unjust regime alongside all the other people of SA who were oppressed.

The inescapable fact is that a majority of white people did vote for the NP, time and time again and some of them are the keyboard warriors that Zulu is talking about, they have found their moral compass after years of enjoying the cushy life, they are hypocrites and they are here on MyBb, they did not all die in 1994 they amongst us going all moral high ground here, we do find that rather odd.
What are you saying? The reason most of us don't talk about the former white government is because it's no longer applicable. To constantly harp on about it is senseless. The current black government however is not and should be held accountable for it's practices and shortcomings.

Zululami was generalising here. In fact 25 years after the fall of apartheid only people older than 35 may have any meaningful semblance of it. Knowing the demographics of this site most of the "keyboard warriors" he was speaking of actually fall in the other category.

Where the real hypocrisy lies in with people who have no idea of apartheid but constantly bring it up as though it affected their lives. That would be the under 30 black group. People who are using it as a crutch to get by over others that are both better and smarter in what they do. BEE and AA should never have included people on either side who didn't complete the majority of their schooling under apartheid. It should certainly not affect people who were born after 1991 yet it does. This isn't even reverse racism, it is just racism pure and simple. You can't have justice by doing wrong against people who had no part in what was done to you, that's if anything was even done against you.

/cues the white privilege brigade

Funny how that always comes up. When you read and hear about blacks coming from sqautter camps and making it. But these loser SJWs will find anything to piss about. Not only the whites leave them behind, their own and some who no one even gave a chance do. Bunch of attention seekers, will blame anything for what and who they are.

No, they did not.

Well the majority of those who voted. If you can show me any evidence that the majority don't want Zuma as president I'll happily change my view

Maybe if you said, the majority the delegates of the majority party who supported Zuma's coup to overthrow Mbeki I'd agree with you.

My initial post stated that the majority voted the ANC into government which is correct.

I wonder where these keyboard 'activists' for free speech were during apartheid when blacks were being persecuted, killed and jailed for speaking out against discrimination. It was a crime to even look baas in the eye - let alone speak ill of him - so please, I don't buy the delayed activism. Shove it - hypocrites!

You must be happy with criminal president Zuma and cronies as well as the ANC's corruption and national pillaging. As you were.

I didn't even know SA existed at that time......

You clearly missed what he was saying or you still support apartheid.
