New Head Unit

Does the head unit make a difference to the quality of sound? Like for instance if I were to play a CD in two different head units through the same speaker setup?
 
Dammit the power plug is smaller than my previous one! I now have to pay R250 to get it installed.
 
I have the pioneer P3350, it has Parrot Bluetooth built in...
Looks OEM nice clean look.
 
Hmm not so happy with the Pioneer anymore :( thinking I should sell it and rather buy Sony.
 
It seems a bit cheap and plasticky compared to my Sony. Also it doesn't sound as nice. Another quite big thing is the random function only works if I let the track play out. If I skip the track manually then it just goes to the next one an doesn't shuffle.

How much do you reckon I could get for it, I payed R1350.00

Unfortunately I can't return it.
 
JVC is better than Sony IMHO. Sony is pretty much the worst HUs I've ever owned.

I've been more impressed by JVC than any other brand except maybe Alpine (way out of your price range).

JVC has multitude of configuration options (not so with pioneer) and decent audio quality.
Pioneer has good audio quality but crappy interface and configuration.
Sony has terrible everything. Interface sucks, configuration sucks, audio quality sucks.

Their speakers and HUs are probably the worst you could buy IMHO.

I had a Sony before this one and it was awesome!
 
You running the MBQuart with that setup?

Im the opposite. I think JVC is average.
Pioneer sucks, 10 000 functions to control the bass but one to control treble called sonic position... useless except when running a Dolby digital file, but thats expected.
Sony has all the necessary functions, usable interface nice power.
 
Actually no, I do have an LG in my old Astra and its pretty good. Why pay more just to be like the rest?
