New Head Unit

OK, fair enough the brand name might not have street cred - I'll give you that. But the proof is in the pudding and the LG really does sound very impressive. Don't knock it till you've heard it.
One day you might eventually understand the concept of quality and reliability.
Its been in the car for close to two years now and never let me down.

What do you think of this:

I've also got an LG player in my car - it sounds good, but it's far from anything great. Also had it just over 2 years, but it does the job - nothing more.

Yeah, I kinda prefer my car audio systems to not do more than the job they should do. Heaven knows what shena****ns they might get up to if they did more that the job they should do...

How much can you get the alpine for? I like it.

R1700.00
In the end though I decided to go for this:

It has 4v preouts so I don't need to turn my gains up so much.
Also the screen is a 4 line display so that's pretty cool.

The lights can change from green to red or blue as well.

I suppose it's quite blingy but I like it.

Yeah. The reason why I am asking, in my new car, I want splits in the front and back, running of a 4channel amp (which will use 2x pre-outs) and then one 12" sub, running of a mobo block and obviously using the sub pre-out. But the radio I am getting with the car will be the Sony GT 242U, so I will be looking at changing it as well.

The only set of 5x7s I ever found, was from infinity and they where very expensive, R800 iirc.

Edit: Maybe go with 5" splits?

My speakers are giving me trouble I can't seem to get them right. The tweeters are so loud and there is so much treble no matter what I do.
