So I was going to buy the 1.6 GLS Auto today at R 167,900.00. Prices increase by 5K from tomorrow. No stock nationwide. So I said I will pay at today's price and they can deliver when stock is available. Salesman says - no can do, they have to issue it from stock. No stock, so I can't have today's price. They may have lost a buyer here. Seems poor business philosophy not to give me today's price and then issue stock later.

go to another dealership or sales person.
No stock nationwide of any Accents. Website supplies a list of dealers with stock. Head office confirmed no stock as well as price increase from tomorrow.

yes i get that but dealing with the right person makes a world of difference. in other words, you might get a sales person who will arrange the deal for you at the current price etc.

A friend of mine just got the GLS model. It really is a very nice car! Lovely interior, good quality finishes, nice and quiet and refined, decent power...

Picked mine up on Saturday.. definately worth the price. A lot of good thing but some cons for balance:
No auto-lock when a certain speed is reached
Boot only opens from the outside by key (boot latch inside)
No RDS on the radio
No thermometer for outside temp
No dialing pad for bluetooth

should have auto lock, the i20 does, or i am just being optomistic

for the RDS, try the hack that you can do on an i20, just google it you should find it on the hyundai forums

I haven't checked the manual yet so there could be a setting for the auto locking doors but I doubt it.
I'll try to enable RDS this afternoon.
If you want the smaller creature comforts, the Elantra is a good deal. Personally, I'd rather spend the extra money elsewhere.
No audible beep or something when the car locks. You have to look for the single flash.

Most cars don't seem to beep these days. But yes, the locking sound is not very loud when you activate the alarm. You really do have to watch the indicators to know you've locked the car.
Not such a big issue for me but can imagine this getting very annoying - espcecially if your previous vehicle beeped.

The Accent is bigger though, so you sacrifice a few minor features for better practicality.

The RDS hack didn't work.
I can get to the hidden menu's but don't see any region setting. Will fiddle around but don't want to waste too much time on that.

It has PDC standard though, but it is odd that they excluded some of those features

suppose it makes sens being a sedan to have that, imo they should have added those extra little creature comforts.
about a month ago when i was at hyundai i asked a sales person for interest to work out a deal for me on the new auto accent, still havent gotten a call.
