New iBurst Wireless pricing revealed

Still waiting

The weird thing here is that I am actually trying to subscribe to iBurst by transferring ownership of an account..obviously trying somewhat less, day by day...

17h45 Call Iburst....on hold...

17h52 Managed to get through to Nyaki <sp?> :) , she confirmed that no changes had been made to the account and suggested I speak with sales and has offered to transfer me across to sales :( .

18h03 ... While I am holding, I thought I would share that Iburst will apparently give my unbiased advice and that I should speak with a service consultant..here I think the call waiting voice gets it wrong..I don't think they have "friendly sales consultants"..seem like mythical creatures to me....still holding..I wonder if anyone is still there?

18h06 ... Getting a bit tired of listening to the tart waffle on about how Iburst are going to help me with their iCall service.

18h11 ... Sod this...

Jannie, I'm sending you the phone bill for all this. Perhaps you can suggest a more suitable time to join iBurst, you guys seem too busy at the moment to take on new clients.

Cheers

And the waiting continues....

...zzzzz....

Nope actually, I must admit that the response times today and yesterday have picked up. :) I called the call centre and low and behold the call was answered almost immediately. So looks like things are picking up there, the time of day may have had something to do with it.

On the other side, it appears that the application I submitted is "in the queue" and has been since last week Thursday. I have been told to call back next week Monday to find out the status. Apparently this is how long it takes to have a credit check done by Iburst. Either there are such a glut of applications coming through that the staff are overwhelmed trying to process them or iBurst uses a very, very slow connection to their Credit Checker...perhaps they need broadband.

Interestingly enough when I queried why it took over a week to process credit checks the accounts department could not answer me, I think some additional training or an update on the FAQ would assist them in being able to answer these complicated technical questions. Herewith the previous call times to iBurst and the costs, excluding yesterday and today:

Date Number Cost Time Duration
05/11/2009 00877202020 6.16 17h09 00h04m06

01/12/2009 00877808080 0.00 12h17 00h00m14

Still, we persevere. :D

Quick checkup

Did a quick check to day to see if the migration and transfer had taken place. No dice yet. I will provide feedback on Monday.

Cheers

pdate: Transfer of ownership has taken place as promised today. I have two thoughts on this; iBurst kept their promise and the transfer happened exactly as reported by their call centre agent. The other is that the process still takes too long!

The package has not been migrated to any other package yet, this is of itself not too important to me at the moment, so I'll pick this up at another stage.

Cheers

Waiting for the migration....

Hi Jannie,

Been a bit longer than the two weeks mentioned earlier in the threads, what's happening with the migration?

I called in today to get my billing..for some reason, your online system doesn't appear to be sending out monthly invoices and statements.

Thought since your team were not doing it I would request the migration and the refund of the difference between the current and new packages. Ref No:00100078999.

Let me know when it's sorted, apparently there is a 72 hour period after which I will be contacted.

Cheers

And still we wait

If only there were other choices. Still no response to the Reference raised earlier. I spoke to Loreal in their Durban call centre (The one where the tickets are raised). Unfortunately I was not given the number of the centre in Johannesburg where apparently the tickets are not going.

Jannie you run an extremely poor ship!

Disappointed.

The time comes when Jannie finally proves he lied about the option of going back to the older package .
The funny thing is that if their new pricing structure (aka figures shuffle) was attractive , they would not have the problem of people wanting to go back to the old option.
Their pricing for 5GB + the 64k throttled went up from the price it used to be and yet they claim 95% saving ...

A leopard never changes its spots.
Once a liar, always a liar.
Iburst /Jannie van Zyl can not be trusted and his words and promises means less than the paper they are written on.

Old pricing for 5GB + 64k throttle = R 599
New pricing for 5GB + 64k throttle = R 445 + R 199 = R 644

Irronically, the words are not written on paper, but rather in Cyberspace... :D

A metaphor is an analogy between two objects or ideas, conveyed by the use of a word instead of another. The English metaphor derives from the 16th-century Old French métaphore, from the Latin metaphora “carrying over”, Greek (μεταφορά) metaphorá “transfer”, [1] from (μεταφέρω) metaphero “to carry over”, “to transfer” [2] and from (μετά) meta “between” [3] + (φέρω) phero, “to bear”, “to carry”.[4] Moreover, metaphor also denotes rhetorical figures of speech that achieve their effects via association, comparison, and resemblance, e.g. antithesis, hyperbole, metonymy, and simile; all are species of metaphor. [5]

I am starting to wonder if the reason why Jannie never set an appointment time for me when he was in durban? I wonder if he was talking BS when he said he was interested in getting high sites in Toti? I think he will find it very difficult to get high sites in Toti now. They are all occupied by the three main WISPs in Toti. One will not even let a resident put a ham radio aerial on the roof of said building, and the other two, well I have fixed business relationships with them, and it was through them I was going to arrange his high sites. There are no high sites free that are even semi decent.

See Jannie, you should learn to put action to your words. The solution I wanted to get from you, which my offering was going to be two strategic high sites that would give you instant 60% coverage. That solution we now got from someone else. They just needed to get one high site to complete a link for Microwave backbone. The main difference was that they actually called us, made an appointment, and met with us.

It would have been nice to have Iburst in Toti, but honestly... I can't wait forever, as I have customers who need connectivity. You failed!

Its been a year since iburst has shown any real initiative in terms of gigs for your buck.If they don't pull up their socks cell c is gauranteed to steam roller them into the ground. Its high time you came to the party as well, iburst.

iBurst died awhile back, they are as good as dead. Crappy customer service, some of the worst prices...rest in peace iburst.
