New iBurst Wireless pricing revealed

Well done iBurst. The local broadband space is certainly getting interesting...now we wait for Vodacom, MTN and Telkom to react...

Quite a nice move here from iBurst, its a pitty we don't have any kind of coverage atleast to my knowledge in the KZN, Stanger region (stand to be corrected ).

Well done guys.

/bets Telkom will be last off mark

Once again I'm proud to be locked into a contract with iBurst :) Thanks Jannie you've made a lot of your customers very happy.

Well done iBurst:)

/Waits for other major players to come to the party:D

I must be half asleep, cause I can't figure out a couple of things in that article...:o

Nevertheless, congratulations iBurst...:)

Remember Lightscribe you are still going to at least have to take the minimum package and then bolt these on so its 64k with 1 gig high speed first for 350 or 128k for 400.
Still they gave us what we asked for YAAAY!!! IBurst FTW!!! I actually worked out that a 1-4mb line plus 15 gigs of data from Afrihost would cost more than the new 15gig package.
IBurst FTW!!!

The pricing seems a bit complicated... but then again - it's late and I'm half asleep. I need some coffee.

Nevertheless well done to iBurst for finally joining the party. A bit too late for me, I've already switched my home account to ADSL, and in the process of switching my business as well.

Jannie - good luck with eating the rest of this elephant. As much as I hate iWorst, I sincerely hope that you are able to turn things around, and I can start recommending it to others, like in the gold old days, instead of flaming it, like the present.

He read the story; that's how he knows he won't be getting uncapped@64k after the 2gb.

increased to 2gig ye, but i lose the 64K uncapped throttled ....

Why is it that myBB always posts these kind of awesome news articles around midnight just when I am about to go to sleep? Now I'm stuck here for an extra hour coz I couldn't resist checking the latest news, and then discussing it in the forums.

myBB - you've turned me into a broadband/telecoms news Zombie!

I just phoned iBurst.

They say that the uncapped price is with no additional costs, if you are with telkom and have your own modem already.

One does not need to buy 1 gig to use the uncapped. They are separate products.

With the launch of the new bundles two new uncapped services will be made available: A 64 Kbps All-day Uncapped service at R199 per month and a 128 Kbps All-day Uncapped service at R249 per month.

Perhaps Jannie could confirm.

5GB with 64k uncapped after the 5GB cap now becomes more expensive.. or have I got it wrong?

It'll now cost you R445 (5GB bundle) + R199 (64K uncapped Value Add-On) = R644.

On the old pricing it costed R599 and included 64K uncapped after you hit your cap.

So yes it's more expensive.

But you don't have to upgrade - you can stick with your old package. But remember, then you'll pay paying the old aweful  topup prices of R199 per GB (is this right??) instead of R49 per GB.

So there's advantages both ways... I'd prefer to go with a higher usage account, like 8, or 15GB, instead of having to deal with 64K after the cap.

I'm an ex iBurst customer, glad I moved away, got suspended a few times for "abuse". 4MB ADSL Uncapped with Vodacom 3G for backup is awesome for my needs :)
