New Laptop Backpack

Hey guys, so it's time for me to buy a new laptop backpack....I used to have an enormous Crumpler that has served me well for the past few years, but unfortunately, it's now quite damaged.

I'm currently looking for a new 'laptop backpack' (large backpack with an internal laptop sleeve)...The laptop I'll be using is small (11" notebook) but the bag has to be large enough to carry quite a number of very large, heavy books every day too...A regular laptop bag won't cut it for me because of this.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. It doesn't necessarily have to be a Crumpler but good padding, a large size, and strength is a requirement. Thanks a lot guys!

Look at the Targus XL. I hae the XSwhich is for 13" size laptops but it doesn't allow space for anything else. The design is very nice with a good assortment of pockets, sleeves, etc. and even has a built in rain coat. So while it is rather large (can fit a 17" laptop) it's worth a look... and I think Incredible Connection stocks them so you can go see it in the flesh.

The Targus XL is designed for 17" laptops and offers hardly any space for books. With my 17" dv7 inside of it i can get around 5 exam pads in at the most and then it becomes awkward to use. Haven't tried fitting anything bigger in an when I need to take serious textbooks to class I just carry them in my hand. Works for me cause I don't move around during the day.

I agree with getting a decent sleeve and then going for a decent backpack or just get a sling bag for your laptop + a decent backpack. All depends on the amount you will need to travel on foot each day

I noticed some confusion between 2 XL models...The one from Incredible Connection is this one (I went today and it was def too small): http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/49222932/Targus_TCB001EU_17_Inch_XL_Notebook_Backpack.html

The Targus XL model TXL617, however, looks perfect!

Does anyone know where I can get this bag, besides wantitall? Or are they worth buying from? Does anyone actually have this bag and can recommend it or know where I could actually see it before purchasing?

Thanks mybb peeps- as helpful as always :)
