i know someone mentioned it but until we are able to manually select a tower this is going to be useless.

There should at least one other tower within a 2km radius, maybe your problem is that you are in a valley

Im in the middle of 4 towers within a 1km radius, more than 10 towers within 3kms. Still getting super slow downloads but uploads constantly hovers around the 13-15mb mark. Just baffling to me how there can be this many Rain towers around me but I still can't get anything over 1mb download. Really wish this optimizer would let me choose which tower to connect to, as you can see I would be spoilt for choice!I have two towers <1.5km away but getting dial up speeds from them, instead I have to connect to a tower over 3km to get usable speeds
In the same boat, only thing I could do was lock onto a further tower that supplied network on the 2600MHz band to atleast have an internet connection, upload took a nosedive. There is nothing happening on the tower closeset to me on 1800MHz which is bad considering I stood right next to it.Im in the middle of 4 towers within a 1km radius, more than 10 towers within 3kms. I had to move my router around the house to test all the towers, if you know how to change towers manually through the router settings it's going to be a whole lot easierIm in the middle of 4 towers within a 1km radius, more than 10 towers within 3kms. During the day around 5mb - 7mb , in the evenings as high as 12mb on the 10mb 24/7 package. I should also point out I'm using the older white routerWhat speeds do you get?
Yes ... I feel you ... in the morning early I get decent speeds but as the day comes ... it drops to 0.5mbpsView attachment 861491
Literally only one tower here... explains the congestion I suppose. Also, Telkom killed ADSL, no Fibre, so everyone using LTE products.
At 3am, I can get 20mbps+.... as soon as sunrises it drops off to 1-2mbps.
Are you on the 4g service?Hahaha

Does it shows you which tower you connected to ?During the day around 5mb - 7mb , in the evenings as high as 12mb on the 10mb 24/7 package. I should also point out I'm using the older white router
Yup, look at py previous post #60Does it shows you which tower you connected to ?
Mine shows nothing ... don’t even show which tower I’m connected to !!!Yup, look at py previous post #60
Yep its gonedebug.rain.network:443 still works. But I'm sure it's days are numbered now that I have posted here...
They kakIt's gone because @rain_mobile Snitched us to their devs probably. So sad really....
Pity. Useful URL once-off, but not much info otherwise, apart from verifying the tower name you're using.Yep its gone

@rain_mobile, there is so much other stuff accessible on your network... Not very hard to find. This URL is the least of your worries.
im trying to get an idea how far 11dbi gain can connect , can u connect to 4/5 km away tower with that gain ?The tower that we connect to is far away, it just took a hell of a lot of tinkering with the placement of the xpol 6.
Mounted it to a pretty tall bedside lamppost, put that outside on a tall desk, moving it a few cm in any direction has an effect on the performance. The 1800 tower we used to connect to, we managed to pull 60 down and 30 up or so, sim was placed in a note 4, on top of a little box, under a table in the corner of the room. It only had 2 bars of signal, but for some reason, that specific place was able to hit those peak speeds. They were just inconsistent because of congestion.
After getting the xpol 6 and trying every possible configuration, connecting to that far away 2600 tower has given good results with stability.
Both versions of the 4G sim are stable and consistent, besides when that specific 2600 tower goes down. When it does, it goes down for a day or two. When that tower goes down, we max out at 10-20mbps if lucky.
I was connected to a tower about 2.5km away with an xpol 6, which is 11dbi gain i think. Good RSSI and RSRP, crap RSRQ and SINR values. Still got up to 10mbps on good days though. How fa

Im planning to get XPol -2 which has a gain of 9dbi , so I wana how further away can I connect with such gain.
The older tower I used to connect to was ~6km away (flat plane) using an XPOL-6 with 11dbi gain and I got ~70% signal strength, optimally they're super equipment. It also made sense why I got my 60-70mbps readings since this one was so far away compared to my new, very close but highly congested tower. With 9dbi I can assume 3-4km will still be great. How fa
