New M-Net Looks Like Crap

Looks like the HD channel logo (which has been around for months)...just in SD and obviously without the HD attached and a karker shade of blue. :confused:

And every time I hear it I remember Scot Scott and Guppy (the blondie who's teeth you could park a bus between :D )
 
You did'nt get a shot of the new M-Net intro. It's UGLY. As for those clips they show at the beginning and end of the commercial breaks, that's nice. But I also now see that the m looks completely deformed compared to the m in that toothfairy ad. The one in that ad looks right. And yes, they have a new navy-blue shade on their corner logo. It doesn't fit in with the m from over all the decades. Maybe if they created a new modern look with their trademark colours? This is all TOO different. Doesn't feel like M-Net anymore, more like an SABC channel.

Yoh! How old are you guys? I think 'Guppy's' name is Michelle McClean? Anyways. The oldest M-Net ad I can remember is the one with the talking animals auditioning for a talent show. I was propably 7yo when it first ran.

Not a chance - Michelle McLean came long after Guppy (around the mid 90s - Guppy was there from the start iirc) and they look nothing like each other. Michelle McLean (ex Miss SA) is a hottie of note. Guppy was/is a blondie...;)

Old enough to remember Hawaii Five-0 on M-NET Open Time and the James Bond Premiere Festival, one James Bond movie per month promo which ran while ummm Timothy Dalton was still 007.

Hawaii-what? I remember Diagnosis Murder and Futurama during open time. And my mother used to always watch Loving. I also remember they had the 5fm hi5-at-5 on open time. Sponsored by Opel Corsa when it 1st came out...

M-Net ran Hawaii-Five-0 in one of the open time slots in the late 80s. I think it was a year or so after M-Net came out. The tagline was "Own the Silver Screen."
 
We still have one of those 1st Delta 9000 decoders in the garage. It has the sloguns "We won't stop the magic" in English and "Ons bly aan die blink vir jou" in Afrikaans on the front.

Yeah, remember that well! Had been working for a few years and was very proud of myself that I could buy my OWN Mnet decoder. I think that the monthly subs were in the region of R 80.00?? I cant remember exactly but ridiculously low when looking back.........Then again I only earned about R 550.00 per month.........wow......how ever did I live.....??? :rolleyes::rolleyes:
 
I see M-Net went back to using the big ugly blue block in the corner at 17:00 today. Even the block looks better than what they had during this week.
