Yep, very true, and M$ has a long history of trying to monopolise draft standards to fit in with the way Intranet Exploder has been coded to work - instead of allowing universal standards to develop that encompass more than M$ decided to implement and with support for more internet attached devices and their browsers - M$' attitude has been something like 'it is must be the Microsoft way or the highway'...You may have drunk the koolaid but not all of us have. MS and IE are the worst when it comes to standards, by a long long way.
IMO M$ delayed w3c standards for about 6 years before M$ decided it could not win the battle to further entrench Intranet Exploder.
