Yep, very true, and M$ has a long history of trying to monopolise draft standards to fit in with the way Intranet Exploder has been coded to work - instead of allowing universal standards to develop that encompass more than M$ decided to implement and with support for more internet attached devices and their browsers - M$' attitude has been something like 'it is must be the Microsoft way or the highway'...
IMO M$ delayed w3c standards for about 6 years before M$ decided it could not win the battle to further entrench Intranet Exploder.
