Perhaps use MacTheRipper to remove any region coding then play the files. It would also help if you told osx to ignore any dvd that is inserted so it doesnt initially pick up the region.any of you guys know how to get rid of the DVD region question that pops up if I play a DVD. I have set it to Region 2 for the first atempt.
Any good site to look for software and tips and tricks
Cheers and thanks for the welcome

From appleQuestion
Can I buy a 1 gig stick and add it to the 512MB or must I run the memory in pairs. The one guy told me that I need to buy it in pairs and the other guy was happy to sell me the single 1gig stick.
Cheers
Hope that helps.MacBook Pro: For maximum performance, upgrade memory in matched pairs
The MacBook Pro will run fine with either a single memory slot filled or with both memory slots filled with two unmatched memory sizes (such as a 512MB DIMM in one slot and a 1GB DIMM in the other).
However, if both slots are loaded with an equal amount of RAM (such as two 512MB DIMMs of the same type), you can take advantage of the system's dual-channel memory architecture for an additional performance boost. With a dual-channel memory interface, both banks of SDRAM can be addressed at the same time, enabling MacBook Pro to reach a memory throughput of up to 10.7 GBps.
I'd sooner get one 1gb now and another down the road. At some stage you're gonna wish you had 2gb in it (if its the newly release model then 3gb) and then you're going to have to trash yet another stick.Wicked...
I will then rather get another 512 stick to get the max out of the memory performance.
Thanks
