New Mahindra Thar

That is not bad, quite like it, nice and simplistic off roader, puts me in mind of the original Willis or Toyota FJ20

That actually looks pretty damn decent from Mahindra...

Its success will all hinge on how capable it is off road.

I actually want one... shame about no radio though :/

Are Mahindra's actually any good? I know they've been around since forever but somehow in my mind they're not any good. Yet I've never seen a single one of them broken down.

I have friend who owns a XUV500 and loves it so Mahindra might not be that bad. I am considering a Thar.

Problem would be resale. But if you buy it at R250k (top spec price?) and keep it for 5+ years it might not be so bad. Can't find details on warranty and maintenance plan though, maybe I'm blind.

Mahindra have a long history, but that does not mean their quality is good. I have no experience with the brand, but they had the previous Thar at a 4x4 show and they managed to break it playing in the mud. Not very good advertising. But if this is reliable, it is a very nice car to play with off road.
