New Mandela Banknotes

How do you feel about the new Mandela bank notes?

If they going to do that i.e. Mandela notes they can start with the R10 notes because pretty soon Rhinos will be extinct :-(((
 
Mandela can replace the Rhino. It's going extinct anyway.

Mandela probably isn't far from extinct either, so what's the difference?

Wait... if we put Malema on the R10 note, will they try poach him perhaps? :p

I don't have a problem with Mandela in principle, but this will just pave the way for other so called "struggle heroes". Like shakes1 said the animals were neutral. Just like JHB international was the neutral version of Jan Smuts airport, now its OR Tambo. So much for neutral.

I voted 3 because there is no clarity on which notes will be replaced and if this is only temporary or not. I definitely don't want to see new ANC faces on all of the notes.

There is clarity - all the notes from the R10 to the R200 will bare the face of Mandela. It also cannot be temporary because new notes are generally introduced every 8 years or so (minimum)

The fact that this politicises the notes and causes them to become free advertising and an endorsement for the ANC under the guise of 'paying tribute to a great man' is only the tip of the iceberg. The implications are that previously agreed upon things like neutral names for airports and now this are evidence of a chipping away of these agreements with impunity. Already I see it has caused huge controversy, how can this be in the spirit that Zuma and Marcus tried to convince us it was in?
