New Merc A class is here..

Oh by the way the guy who bought thia A-class said he was tired of the Opel nonsense hahaahaha I just thought of our very own Opel man Mr Roux

It's a chunk cheaper than BMW. I'm seriously considering this thing. Curious as to the price on the A200, which goes for quite a bit more than the A180 in Oz.

Edit - Oh, there's the prices now :p

Really? I beg to differ... Go look at BMW pricing. The 125i compares to the A250 and has more power for around R45 000 less. All other comparative BMW 1 series models are priced below the A Class. So BMW is cheaper

I don't get it every 25year old drives a GTI! Are they robbing banks?

Etc etc. I promise you most people are living on the line as appose to having money to burn.

More people than those willing to drop close to R500k on a Golf, and considering how many Golf R's I've seen on the road along with new BMW 3-series, it seems people have cash to burn. Or I'm in the wrong line of work. Who knows?

See above :p

Some. not all.

Most, not all must be what you wanted to say :D

I have one problem with the new A class. That stupid radio that is propped up on the dash (doesn't slide away) and looks like a GPS/SAT NAV system.

Apart from the AMG I'm just not a fan of this cars looks - the styling is too flashy. Although I guess that's the market they're aiming for.

Sure it looks beautiful and it's got a premium interior. But damn, R300K for a small car that looks pretty and little else. Maybe it's just me but that is madness.

Wow you sure seem to have a problem with pretty much every car out there, I suppose we should all be driving Tiguans. Still waiting for your response to the PM btw :)

Mike go fly a kite, I know 2 or 3 cars seem to be your definition of "all the cars" since you can only count that high.
Take a big downhill and record how fast your car went with an app on the phone. Genius. You are now ignored.

Lol no valid response other than "you are now ignored". Especially when you ignore any other valid alternative to prove your claims. Please stay out of the other thread as well if this is going to be your attitude. Cheers troll.

Something to note about the diesel engines in the lineup:

The 180CDi Efficiency manual gets the Renault engine (OM607 - 1496cc)

The 180 CDi Efficiency 7G-DCT gets the Mercedes engine (OM651 - 1796cc, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XflnDRyVRQs)
