New Microsoft Edge start menu advert targets Chrome users

With all of those "adverts" , why exactly are we still paying for windows?

Imagine car manufacturers start doing that... Get in your car, turn the key and it shows you an ad before you can drive off.
But you see, you have to exaggerate. Typical.

Show me where Windows has stopped you from logging in?

I don't think you understand how the app suggestions work. Apple user?

What about you get in your electric Tesla and when you go to search for a new battery they suggest you the latest Tesla battery available.

Its not as big a exaggeration, if you try and change the default browser it prevents you with a popup asking you "Have you tried the new Edge" even if its Edge trying to open PDFs in a corporate environment .....

It only did that for me when I install Chrome, it didnt do that when I install Firefox.

So have you tried the new browser?

Of course , you basically have to as Windows 10 has a 50% chance of resting your default apps with every major update , forcing all PDFs to be opened in Edge, resulting in users flooding our helpdesk and forcing us to reset it again....

I'm actually digging this new edge browser. Much faster than chrome.
I still don't see nor feel it, and I'm not alone. For some of us, it stutters more, loads slower and doesn't even kick in video acceleration while base Chromium and Firefox doesn't exhibit the same issues, and likewise others had the opposite experience, makes one think.

You do know we're talking about edge chromium? It's basically chrome optimised to use less ram.
that's definitely true at least, can't knock them there, but that's about it improvement wise that I can observe.
