Multimedia mini mobile HD.

Good evening mates, could anyone advise me on a shop in Cape Town or online shop where I can purchase a mini mobile HD with a USB2.0 plug and play.Could be 40,80,120 or 160 gig .I am also looking for a HD or mini computer that lay flat (Black) and with a HD and one rom (CD or DVD) and sound card and ram to plug up to my plasma for permanent use with windows XP.Thanx & regards

Thanx guys ,Those LaCie are reasonally priced, just what I am looking for,but can I fine them locally.

I bought the 60GB Fujitsu-Siemens mobile HDD for my laptop, very small & portable - and worked like a champ.

*Can buy it at Makro.

Look at the thread I posted, click on it and read it, you can find it at digital planet, but that's only for the device itself, excluding hdd, so maybe follow kingrob's advice? ;)

Alternatively to that device above you just need a 2.5"/3.5" hard drive with an external chassis. With a 3.5" you'll get a lot more space (and for cheaper)

You can also buy a normal notebook HDD (sizes up to about 120gb I think), and get a Vantec NexStar 3 casing (fits snuggly around the small HDD and is powered by USB, so you don't need extra power cables). I'm using a 100Gb drive in the NexStar 3 as external drive for my notebook.

But then it's not a mobile mini HD,It will then just be a external HD,too big to cart around.I hear what you are saying cheaper for more space, but I am looking for something that I can cart around in my pocket.:)

Now I can't make my mind up between the Lacie silverscreen vs Mvix. These gadgets are small enough to cart around,(Mobile). They are worth the bucks, although the Mvix is cheaper on the SA market.the Lacie is more compact.Do anyone own either of the two, give some feedback pls? Both can double as a media centre and a mobile HD. Thanx guys and ladies for your input so far. http://www.mvix.co.za/
