New mobile data limits for Telkom Integrated Data service

If it's ongoing I'll look at canceling Telkom.
I saw in MTN's yellow trader, you could still pick it up with a handset. I cant remember if you could get the sim only deal, but you can get an LG G4 for around R369** with the 50GB deal. Thats still a sweet deal

** its around that price point.

I have a 12 month discount with Telkom which ends at the end of April. So unless this changes again for the better, im cancelling my 100GB data. R235 for 100Gb's adsl data only is ridiculous, considering i also have cheaper Afrihost data. Was good while it lasted Telkom, but adios :(

Had a look now but don't seem to find it

I moved to 100GB Softcap in Jan and have just noticed that I get a "Do 3 Discount" that means I'm paying R159/mth for it, is this what you have?

Haven't received the new data limits email yet, just a mobile promo.

Nope, but in total, for my 20mbps line and 100 gigs data, im paying around R650. That includes my voice line. But with this announcement, it makes no sense for me to keep my data @R235 once my discounts end. Im going to attempt to see if the will offer me an additional 12 months to stay, but if not, im out and will drop my data package.

Ayy, this was good while it lasted, as LaraC says, glad it wasn't cancelled completely :-D. :p Yes, ranger-san did give us a hint this was coming, now we have figures.

June - 2016 - LTE activated in the area - upto 30Mbps
February 2017 - LTE upgraded upto 60Mbps [max router achieves], yeah, gonna miss that compared to our 10Mbps ADSL line [currently at 3Mbps due to some changes recently] :crylaugh:. 4k streaming is fun.

I think this product will evolve like all other products of theirs, starting small and then bumping up will be a welcome addition. Just think, 100GB > 200GB + 10/20% for mobile data. :D

people using this product for hotspots and **** and you wonder why it was cancelled...

The end of this promotion period heralds the end of Telkom's usefulness. Unfortunately, my landline is out of order for 4 days at a time, at least once every 2 months. The SIM protection was the only thing keeping me with Telkom

Time to look for greener pastures.

Basically the same here. Only reason i kept my data with them, was because my line was shoddy, and would work, then give problems. The fact that i could utilise my data cap was a nice addition. Now cant see myself keeping the data, when i already have my data with Afrihost

What?? It's an integrated sim, they allowed 5. What else would you use it for? I have one in my adsl router configured as a fail over, in my tablet and in a mifi device for work as the wifi there is horrible.

If telkom was clever and wanted to corner the market they would provide seamless data between adsl & mobile. Irrespective of your access technology you would still get the same product.

What ??? They do come up with good innovations, but they don't have any good IT skills.

So Telkom Internet thinks that Telkom fixes faults in 8 hours? Because that's what 2GB on a 200GB account works out to.

For the amount of my time that they wasted getting this working, they sure ****ed us in the arse. Typical Telkom.

You have to admit it was a good deal... I had mine for over a year and I could stream sports where ever I go on my tablet.. basically paying R140 odd for 40 gig.

I've also had mine for over a year and only just got it working after a lot of screaming and two ICASA complaints. I only intended to use it when the ADSL goes down, but it's now worthless for that.

Yes gotta agree it was a mission to get it to work
Its still not working properly, but it was good thinking by Telkom with this. But in Typical Telkom fashion, they take it away, not completely, but while no other ISP has it, they could have benefited from it.
