New MTN F@stlink Software?

E620 CD2HOST01B113D01SP04C03 (Normal) is now available.
Looks like lower version number than the MTN one.
Previously they had Normal with Voice Call and Normal without Voice Call, does this one have voice call or not?

I have tried the latest MTN software. Problem with that is it doesnt allow you to go on standby or hibernate when you have a network connection. Also if ever you do manage to go on hibernate because of low battery, you cannot access the internet even if you're connected.

The latest generic one doesnt have voice. Im just using it as I rarely get to use my data sim for calls.

I hope Huawei releases notes on what has been revised between versions.

I cant find the antenna online. Pasting the specs in google directs me to a japanese site. Previously, my telecom's tech support advised that he was able to boost signal by using the wired headset as an antenna. Well, guess what? I plug it in the jack and clip the other end upwards, on my window blinds. I get 2 to 3 bars more! : )

Hope you guys can verify this too so we dont have to look for and buy that hard to find antenna. : )

It Really Does Work!!!!

I also try plugging in the headset, and guess what i went from 2 bars to full signal, never had full signal before in this location yeah!!!!!!!!! so the headset is also an antenna thanks MFB

: ) Glad it worked for you too. We're actually going to save a few dollars on this very simple tip.

If this actually works I won't be putting that earpiece into my ear ever again. All that 3G/HSDPA radiation then gets a shortcut to the brain through the ear.

New E620 software available directly from Huawei here:
http://www.huawei.com/mobileweb/en/doc/list.do?type=-1&id=305
Filename is E620 HOST01B113D04SP08C08(S. Africa MTN)

I think this version is newer than the one available from MTN as an update on December 15 (HOST01.11.13.04.06.08), see the following thread:
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=61265

According to the top secret release notes included in the full download, there are no new features and no known limitations and issues since the previous version, the only change is cosmetic:
In GPRS GPRS will be displayed
In EDGE EDGE will be displayed
In WCDM 3G will be displayed
In HSDPA HSDPA will be displayed

For those of you who don't wish to download the full 27MB version including Adobe Acrobat Reader from Huawei, you can get the installer only (8MB) from me here:
*** obsolete link removed ***

Note: the driver included in this package is still the old (2005/07/26) version, not the new beta driver described here:
