But more powerful, definitely. The V8 in the current Mustang GT puts out 420kw. Compare that to the 224kW of the 435i - its nearly twice as powerful.
Its not really a useful comparison actually. More useful would be Mustang 2.3l turbo vs 2.0l BMW turbo, or mustang v6 vs 435i.
The 1M is faster than a supercharged V8 mustang 2012 model.
American power ratings is inferior to German power ratings.

With a power output of only 430HP, compared to over 600HP in the current generation mustangs, never mind next gen, its distinctly unlikely that the M4 will be faster than the Mustang. Actually the M3 would be a better comparison here.

The 1M is 0.1s faster than the 2011 V8 Mustang 5.0 and it's also twice the price. Not a bad trade.
As for power ratings, I only have some university-level physics behind my name but I'm pretty sure those are standardized...
As for the M4 beating the V8 Mustang, the M4 will do low 4's according to BMW, meaning the current GT500 already beats it, nevermind the next generation.

I also know a person whom own both the Camaro and Mustang Convertibles. His neighbour have an M3, which cannot compare.

Friend in Nelspruit has a Camaro. I nearly pooped myself with the acceleration. When he put his foot down, you were thrust into the seat as if with a giant hand. It reached 160km/hr in under 15 seconds
