New news site testing

You will need to address how you are sending e-mail though - your hosting server has no MX record which means delivery will fail on a good proportion of mail servers. I'm surprised there haven't been others who have picked this up.
Thanks for the feedback - we are looking into it.

Font Size

Sorry but the size of the fonts is really irritating me especially on the Forum discussion section, Puts me in mind of when i was in std 6 and comic sans was the coolest font on the planet. Otherwise the new layout works just needs some tweaking. But I have changed my browsing behaviour.

I've changed from going to the news page first and then onto the forum, to going onto the forum first, if it is important enough I will see the article though the forum.

Also having to have 2 separate logins for the forum and comment system is irritating. Should be one login.

The character set on the feed from my gaming is still wrong

Just my 2 cents worth

Hi folks

You may have noticed that the news site http://mybroadband.co.za/news/ looks a bit different, with some added functionality.

We are currently testing the site, and it will be great if you can also play around to see if you discover any dead links or other bugs. If you find any problems please post them here.

It will also be good if you can check Google (site:mybroadband.co.za/news) to see if any of the indexed links are dead.

Your feedback will be great!

I like the look and approve, but why does all sites nowadays go [----------[page]---------] on my wide screen instead of [-[...........page............]-]. I would really like to know what's the design logic behind it as it does kinda looks weird having this "plat" page hanging in the middle.

It seems the My Gaming problem is now sorted ?

Sorry - false alarm

I do not like the fact that you now split the comments between the news page and the forum. Does not make any sense. Please try to keep everything in one place.

While I agree with your preference for using the forum for article comments, there are very lazy people out there that prefer not to click on the link to a thread and post their comments in the thread.

rpm has obviously given the lazy people what they want to stop them from complaining about having to click on the thread links, next they will complain that they alone are posting comments on the news article pages and they want more people to do the same

It is actually easier to comment the way they did it in the breaking news section and all the comments are in one place.

The reason is part of the url: breaking news has /vb/ in the url which means it is a relatively new feature added to the forum software, compared to /news/ which is not part of the forum software and is a dedicated CMS for news articles.

One day in the hopefully not too distant future the forum software will converge to the point where it has much more useful CMS features and can then replace the system currently used on MyBB's /news/ url.
