Hi folks

You may have noticed that the news site http://mybroadband.co.za/news/ looks a bit different, with some added functionality.

We are currently testing the site, and it will be great if you can also play around to see if you discover any dead links or other bugs. If you find any problems please post them here.

It will also be good if you can check Google (site:mybroadband.co.za/news) to see if any of the indexed links are dead.

Your feedback will be great!

This may seem relevant but there goes, would it be possible to implement the Facebook login api that most sites use (i don't know the right term :p) as this may give more visitors to the site a welcomed feeling in the sense, they don't need to go through a dreaded (other sites not this one) process of registering.

So i visit the site then go to the discussion but have something i want to say, i just use the login with facebook link and bam i can troll or participate lol :D

Otherwise the new news site looks good, keep up the good work

Nice, you guys switched to Wordpress, good choice! I am doing the same on some of our web sites.

Looks nice, even more organized.

Can you check your character set? I am using FireFox 4 and seeing lots of weird k†type characters. Of course you might see that fine but to me it is a k, an a with an accent on it, a euro sign and a 0090 in a box. It seems mostly in the mygaming headlines section.
eg. Ubisoft unmasks Assassin’s Creed Revelations details

Cheers.

Does this mean we going to migrate to commenting below the article instead of in the 'forum' in the future?

No. You will see a big link below each artcile which states 'Forum Debate' (Orange and grey) which links to the forum discussion. We did however add comments below articles for those who prefer to comment there.

Site looks very odd when you have Ad Block on :D

Just allow adds on this site. The adds on my broadband aren't in your face and you may actually like one of the products one day.

Its the right thing to do

Personally hating the new layout. Most offputting thing is the way new forum discussions are displayed on the home page, and the fact that it shows fewer new topics.

Same problem with Firefox 3/4 on Fedora & Firefox 4 on Win 7. IE 9 on Win 7 is fine.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. The charsets/collations on MyBB look fine. Seems the issue is coming from MyGaming's feed. Will see what can be done to fix it (it does look rather unsightly).

Just went into the telecoms tab from the home page, and I got a mobile version of the site. Using IE 9 on windows 7.

Chrome on Fedora exhibits the same problem.

Way better design! The people that don't like it are the people against any sort of change :)

Few points:

-Like other users stated: MyGaming feed thinks Chrome's so good it enables me to read alien :)
-Would like the forum feed to show more topics like it did before, but in the new style.
-Don't have any strong feelings toward the extra article commenting system, will just separate an already great forum based commenting system, plus it seems you need to register for another account (have not tried since it doesn't matter to me)

Besides those points, I love the new layout.Nice work!

Edit : Must say the changes in the articles themselves are awesome. i.e the staff profiles and the now more visible space where the date, tweets etc are displayed.

Edit : The logo looks much better, but shouldn't the site's name at least be stated next to it on the white?
