New Nvidia RTX 2060 12GB announced

12GB is kind of pointless in a 2060, if it was maybe 2060ti or super variant maaaaaaybe, but it's at best a 1080p card, don't need more then 6GB for 1080p. The 2060 super I've got with 8GB just barely can do 80fps on 1440p
 
Hmmm so it has the same amount of cores as the 2060 Super but the memory bus width of the normal 2060
Also curious to see if this will ship with an updated LHR to patch the current bypasses or will it even have LHR at all.

12GB does seem kind of waste on a card like this, wouldn't a cheaper 6GB card have been a better move?
6GB RTX 2060 with 2176 cores would have been interesting but with 12GB this is probably going to be $300 MSRP

The cheapest RTX 3060 at Wootware is R10,499.00 right now so these would be what, around R9500.00?
Really doesn't seem worth it.

They sometimes give cards with lower throughput more memory, like with the slower 3060 vs 3060Ti. So maybe it offsets it somehow?
 
Geez, I can only see this make all other GPUs more expensive.

MSRP is a lie, it only serves to market a product.

It's pure luck when it does happen. I have a feed that alerts me whenever there's a stock intake of FE cards. The last drop was 25 November and before that 11 Nov. I just missed a 3080 because the site got overcongested.

Why? Sure seems the valuation changed, hence the recommended retail price has changed. As I said, it only serves to market a product. I can assure you that Nvidia's MSRP haven't changed, but know that the end consumers are paying more due to market and intermediary related reasons.

MSRP doesn't change on FE cards but the 'market' value on scalping has gone up. I would never scalp but I will upgrade if I can grab something.
