got a call from ADT this morning, they have apparently had a number of uniforms and badges etc. stolen from them, they are afraid that criminals could use them to gain entry into your house, they said if someone comes to your door claiming to do routine maintenance on your alarm system, you should call them first to check if they have deployed someone

Like I said they called this morning, so it might be just in my area, Centurion, Lyttleton to be exact

We had an ADT guy climbing the fence to the left of us, climbing the fence behind us, strolling in the garden in front of us. This was after the alarm went off behind us :D
I called ADT to confirm this guy was genuine. (He seemed not to be going to the house with the alarm). He did tell us his name when challenged.
I spoke to 5 people at ADT and NOT one could tell me whether ANY officers should be in the area or whether the name given was genuine.
They wanted me to go outside and read the little number on the side of the van. Heah right. I would be dead by the time I did all that.
As a result - treat any ADT officer as you would anyone else roaming your garden with an exposed firearm and bullet proof vest.
