The 4690k + decent MB will push me over budget, so back to the drawing board.
When I look at benchmarks the 6300 seems like a logical choice when on a budget.
Was just looking at this now http://www.hardwarepal.com/best-cpu-gaming-9-processors-8-games-tested/

Yeah it'll be fine. More than fine, actually, given that the GTX 960 usually hovers around 120W power draw on AAA games and for lighter ones sits at around 30W. I don't see the FX-6300 using more than 150W at stock so you're way under the PSU's limit and around 60% load for games, so efficiency will be quite high.
You can use simpler chassis, I didn't know you were planning to put in four drives. The Bitfenix Outlaw is another good choice if you need to narrow down the list.
Yes to the warranty being the chief factor. Its a decent drive and very reliable. If you can do with the SSD just being the boot drive and hosting a few programs and not too many games, then a 128GB drive is quite fine. Corsair's LX 120GB, Crucial's BX100/MX100, Transcend SSD370 128GB and the OCZ Arc 120GB are all good drives that are usually under a grand.
Right... I guess you know jack **** about Super Flower PSUs then.

Drop 4Gig ram?
I'm still trying to a find a game that actually uses it, and I have many games on my computer atm, any recommendations?

But FX6300 not the worse choice when it comes to online retail pricing.
Not gonna get a decent MB for R800 to go with that as far as I can see.
Nah, I've managed to use all of my 4GB before (not gaming) so would prefer 8GB.
On second thought that MB is pretty limited, forgot about sata/pata for optical drive and I can't find many reviews for it wrt OCing
Thinking of the following so far.
MB - R1401 - MSI AMD 970 Gaming AM3plus ATX Motherboard
CPU - R1698 - AMD FX-6300 Vishera Black Edition 6-Core 3.5GHz
Cooler - R333 - Zalman CNPS10X Optima
RAM - R1081 - Crucial Ballistix S XT 8GB 1866Mhz DDR3 Gaming Memory
GPU - R2999 - Galax 96NPH8DVD9XX GeForce GTX 960 EXOC 2048MB GDDR5 128-bit
Still need to add case, psu & hdd.

Kalahari has one for R870, which you could probably easily voucher to R800.
Are you back here now? R1 600.00 to spend on case, PSU and hdd?
Looks like it
Pretty sure I can throw in a few hundred more. Current case might work but has no front usb3 & it might run hot, gpu will be a tight fit as well seeing as there's only 280mm available.
The Galac GTX960 (271mm) squeaks into your case. so R2k for PSU and HDD? Can be done.
The response is overwhelming!![]()
