New Pc- Help Please

He never stated he wanted xfire/sli. I don't so it doesn't bother me. And If he did go AMD he'd have to shell out R1800 just for a proper implemented 16x16x anyways. So to pay less you have to accept you will get less.. Thats the way the world works.

8x8x on amd board is better than 6x6x in that 1156 board.

When it comes to pc components (especially mobos, cpu, ram, PSU, GPU), gor for the best or jump. No budget nothing here.:)

That's my rig right there. I wouldn't have to ask what component should I buy for this price blah blah.
Anyway I was talking about a pc, not a jumbo jet. :)

I'm sure you know what I meant.

woa so what you guys are saying is that i shouldn't go for the Asus because its not true usb 3? Surely it will be better than the intel board that i had chosen since none of them were usb 3? The pc must support sata 3 and usb 3 is just optional though would prefer it

No, it's not just asus, it should be all P/H55 mobos.

Or don't worry bout USB3/SATA3 for now. IIRC, the hdds don't show that much of an improvement and USB3 devices aren't that cheap.

My Friend Wants A new pc and is not sure what to go for, some basic graphic design and mainly general use, with a little bit of gaming.

Option 1 - R3000
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300, 2.5ghz
2 gb DDR 2 800
500GB Hard Drive

Option 2 - R3899
Intel Core i5 650 3.2ghz
2 gb DDR3 1333 Ram
500gb Hard Drive
Intel Tom Cove H55 M/BOARD

Option 3 - R4299
Intel Core i5 750 2.66ghz
2 gb DDR3 1333MHZ
500GB Hard Drive
Intel Whitesbrurg H55 M/BOARD(No Onboard vga)

What option Do you guys recomend, he will be spending an extra 1600 on a monitor and another 1000 on a vga. Is it worth going for one of the i5's are they alot faster than the quad core.
And is there a big difference between the two i5's processing speed(worth the extra R400)? Cause he would prefer not to buy the vga now and rather get it in like another month.

You guys are forgetting what the PCs intended use will be and the basic price ranges of the OP!...
just go i5 750 with a nice Asus mobo. Preferably a P55 chipset, but the H55 will work just as good.
If you want a few tips on giving it a slight OC, to 3.2GHz feel free to pm me and I'll walk you through it :)
