New PC Help

Will this place just ship me the parts all in bits for me to put together then??

Nice thing about Cafeviva is that they do it for you for free...

We build the PC for free and if we build it, it comes with our 3 year warrenty.

I personally would never ever pay just to have it built...it's a waste of money and theres probably tons of people who'd be willing to do it for free.

Yeah. I am not happy that they charge for that service. Otherwise, the prices and stock are great and apparently delivery is always prompt too...

If I were you I'd just get an antistatic wristband and read up on how to apply thermal compound...other than that it's pie.

And things like jumper settings? I nearly failed my hardware course at CTI cos the PC wouldn't boot cos of damn jumper settings!

Yeah. For me it's not worth all the effort really. Either I will find somewhere that puts it together for free or I will cough up the 300 bucks for them to do it for me.

I sent Prophecy an email to see if they could match the price of R2000 for a E6400 going at Pcint.co.za because in their FAQ it said you could inquire about that sort of thing. They haven't replied

Unfortunately I was mislead by Take2 because they had advertised it going for R1700. It was "to be released" so I emailed them asking when would it be coming out(thinking it must be new stock or a special). They informed me it was available so on Monday(four days later) I went to buy it and they had changed the heading to a E4300( I'd checked on Saturday and it was till a E6400). Turns out they had made a mistake. I'd been following that for weeks and suddenly at the last moment it changed leaving me well over budget  .

Oh well. I supppose mistakes happen. This happened just before Prophecy phoned me about the Asus being out of stock. Not surprisingly I wasn't very happy.

So watch out. Things don't always turn out as planned and your budget will probably go out the window:rolleyes:

Indeed. I will bear that in mind. Can't find anywhere to come close to matching prophecy's prices or range so far...
