new PC

80MB HDD: not much for a 80mb hdd, those are a tad bit outdated. I assume you mean 80gb?
 
If you want to get a lot for your computer, don't sell it on pc sites (like this one), but rather go for Cape Ads and such, you will get a lot more.
 
I basically use it for gaming and internet.

Budget : I have a provident fund paying out end October:D so that answers the question, however I don't want to go completely overboard.

That said however I want to build one that won't need any upgrades for a while (Yea yea, I know that's not possible with pc's, but I can dream). And it's gotta be able to do the ironing for me:eek:

Then if I do put this one in the junkmail, what price would be reasonable?

(note to self : make sure money is cash in account, not a Dunlop cheque like last time - @ssholes, got the last pc I "sold" for free)
 
My advise would be to wait till February 2007

Too many interesting thimgs is still gonna happen..........
 
R2800 - R2900 for current pc. (try the suckers on cape ads)

Something bigger than a 6600GT PCIx (7900?)
 
may i ask what an average person would do with 640 gig of storage?

well, if you start playing with dvd editing, you run outa space quite quickly. Even just downloading from the IS news server (when it's working) you should be able to get about 60Gb a month (more like 90gb at full speed).

And then theirs stuff like mp3's, movies, episodes, games (FEAR is 1.8Gb!), ext...
