Hey folks

I've not been able to get much help from Afrihost support, so I'm hoping maybe some users have run into a similar issue.

I recently upgraded. Got a Sony Z3 Compact and with a new LTE nanosim. However I just can't get my afrihost data working. I've checked and double checked my settings (it's not really that tough) as well as changing some other APN settings but still can't get it connecting. I have tried it in various locations so signal isn't an issue. Things worked fine until the new phone and sim, so I'm assuming it's one of these.

My current exchange with AH has been this

I recently got a new simcard (An LTE one) after upgrading my MTN contract. However I'm not able to get the Afrihost APN working. Is there anything to be re-activated when getting a new simcard?

I have checked your account and profile ,and picked up a lot of session disconnections
Kindly please note i have refreshed your sessions and also ran an Audit on your profile
Also if you could confirm if your APN setting are as follows: APN name--Afrihost Name:afrihost
Please test and let me know if this helped

PS: please off your router for bout 5 min and then try connection

Interesting. Thanks. My apn is set correct, however this is regarding my cellphone?

I trust that you are well, please kindly confirm the particular SIM card number so that we can best request for the LTE service again.
Please do not hesitate to contact us should you need any further assistance

Thanks

I didn't have LTE previously, but my Afrihost data did work. It now doesn't and the only thing that has changed is my cellphone and the sim. I have checked that my APN settings are correct

Apologies for the connectivity issues that you are experiencing. I have submitted your SIM for re-provisioning. Please allow up to 30 minutes for the process to take effect. After that check if your APN is still defaulted to "afrihost". Restart your device and try connecting.

Please let us know how that goes. Do not hesitate to contact us for any further assistance.

I'm now starting to think it might be something on my side, so if any other users have had similar issues and managed to get it resolved, please let me know. Don't think I'll be able to live without Afrihost data!

Thanks Venomous, I haven't. It that necesary? Any idea which part of MTN I'd be able to call and get a hold of someone that knows how to do that?

Just dail 808,

I think you need to ask to speak to one of the technical team, so select zero when the menu starts talking

Looks like it's working. Thanks! :D

I am glad that you were able to get your Mobile Data package working again.

Generally, when you upgrade your Cellular Contract, or you change the Package that you are currently on, you will need to request that we re-provision your Mobile Data package on your account, this should take no more than a few hours - although it does tend to be faster than that - and it will get your Mobile Data package working on your MTN sim card again.
