Always wondered about these. Regular updates?

I've had it for two weeks or so, and it's already pushed a Cyanogen update onto the phone. I'm not sure what 'regular' really entails in this context though.

Does your phone poop often enough to be considered healthy?

:p

I think in this context it's more like a menstrual cycle.

Does the phone suffer from pms often and does the bloat go away regularly?

Wait for Galaxy S7, LG G5 and HTC One M10.

Forget all 2015 phones, especially the ones with Snapdragon 808 and 810 CPUs.

I am still loving my Note 4 beast :D got a 128GB EVO MicroSDXC coming for it soon. I waiting for the Note 6, nothing released in 2015 was worth leaving it for.

I like what you're saying. Still hanging on to my Note 3, can't bear to part with it so possibly a Note 6.

Don't blame you. The Galaxy Notes are so amazing, you literally only need to upgrade them every 2-3years. I know someone who is still happy with their Galaxy Note 2 LTE and many with Note 3s and Note 4s, and see no real replacement coming until the Note 6 lands.

The Huawei Mate 8 looks good to, but no SPen and SPen suite.

LG G5 will take a lot of cues from the V10 so not a very big loss there.
Yea, I'll have patience this time round.

Current phone is not too buggy and still reliable (if somewhat irritating at times) so please keep the options coming :)

I currently have a Note 3 running Note 5 software. There's not much out there that's a real upgrade atm (Note 4/5, S6 Edge+, Xperia Z5 Premium). But they are insanely overpriced IMHO. For me right now it's between S6 Edge, G4, P8/Mate S.

Most of the new phones that will release will be crazily overpriced with the exception of the Mi5. Also waiting to see what the Huawei Mate 8 will be priced at.

But as it stands the G4 is ticking all the right boxes for me.

I currently have an s4, throws a tantrum every now and then but still works.

Gets hot or overused without a reboot then the screen goes on and off as if it's in a sview cover that is being flipped open and closed constantly.

Anyway, I'll live with it till a too good to ignore offer and phone come along.

5 PESKY NEXUS 5X PROBLEMS, AND HOW TO FIX THEM

How about the Nexus 5X? Are you looking to buy it cash or with a contract?

Contract more likely than not.

Even though you're not considering this, may help others with their decision on this phone. The 5X's battery issues - which only apparently surface after about a month's use, were discussed on All About Android .. think it was in episode # 248 https://www.youtube.com/user/AllAboutAndroid/videos

OK. At the risk of asking you or telling you what most have already suggested.

Wait for the G5. S7 is going to be boring.

In the meantime, load Ale95's Note 5 port ROM on your S4. I also have a S4 as my 'play around with' phone, and the ROM is excellent... do it!

My old S4 did that, took it to Samsung Smart Care in early 2014, they replaced the entire Display panel and frame, never had the issue again. It was something to do with the display and faulty magnet sensor, many S4s were affected.

Have you played with an S7 already?

OP

My suggestion, look at all the 2016 flagships. Htc are coming from a terrible 2015, best believe they are going to come guns blazing with a Snapdragon 820 based HTC One M10, keep in mind before the M9, the M8 was rated by many iPhone loving blogs like BGR and Android reviewers as the best Android. Don't count HTC out.

and then G5 and S7 Edge should definitely be worth a look to.

I wouldn't touch HTC with a barge pole...

From all the leaks the S7 is boring. The G5 will be awesome.
