I can think of situations where this will be abused for sure. For example, a group where a complexes Trustees make decisions and have discussions - unnerving to image admins could delete messages.

power lends itself to abuse, doesn't mean the function wouldn't be useful.
 
Actually people should also be able to remove their own messages. Some of the 'wrong message, wrong place' oopsies that have gone viral / caused kak would have been avoided if ppl could delete their oopsies.

If they aren't fast enough though, then thats tough tittie...
