New Rates

It seems I'm missing something here since what has mybroadband have to do with it.

That so-called "leak" was reported by IOL not mybroadband

Now you have me lost, where do you see leak reported by IOL?

I can now confirm that the new pricing is not just a rumor.

Additionally - existing clients will not automatically be migrated to the new packages and you have to explicitly request a package migration. You can migrate to a package of greater subscription value - migration to packages of lesser value is only allowed on month-2-month contracts and is subject to the normal migration fees. All the other normal migration rules also apply.

All the existing packages will remain but new clients will only be able to sign up for the new packages.

Thanks for the info...

I just wonder how much "mistakes" the accounting department will make when we migrate.

They're finally doing what little they're planning to improve the service they offer, give them a break, let them do it.

Erm, why should we give them a break? They have had more than enough time to get their accounts department in order, yet they persist in dicking people around more often than not.

It doesn't take much to structure things correctly from the outset as opposed to sowing seeds of confusion. When are they planning on advising people that to actually benefit from the price reductions that you have to apply to migrate your package (which in itself, if you have ever attempted it, is a nightmare and to top it all off, you have to give them 30 days notice in terms of migration). So in effect no-one will benefit in the first month of reduced rates as you will have to wait 30 days for it to become effective.

Don't even get me started on the point that they will 'credit you' as they cannot even send out correct statements at the best of times.

I have mailed accounts, Shaun Green and Thami Mtshali in respects of this to get clarification. Do you think that they have bothered to answer?

These clowns are exactly that, a bunch of bumbling fools, falling over themselves. The problem is that it is not even remotely funny.

Come on Shaun or anyone else from iBurst. I dare one of you to actually post something of value explaining the above instead of hiding away hoping that everything will turn out OK.

this sounds screwed up to me... existing and new packages existing together.... if u on the 3Gb (3.5Gb) package (contract) the new price for similar Gbs is much lower, so now u gotta go onto the new package at same cost, since u cannot go to the lower value (similar Gb size).
F'd up... don't need more Gbs, rather want the lower cost!
I thought they wanted to reduce / simplify the packages.... must have some bored executives on payroll there...
spose we'll have to wait & see whats gonna happen, since iBurst clearly has no desire to clarify the situation, duh

I can appreciate your frustration but to be fair - at least they are not forcing you onto a package of higher value

You are in the minority though - most people I have spoken to would rather up their cap and keep their monthly costs. Heard this from guys at a couple of other ISP's too.

WOW, I am so glad I am going to drive over my iBurst modem with the Land Rover soon :D

Sure, its not FORCEing, as in put gun against head, but now I can either stay on current package R599 for 3Gb (3.5Gb) or go to higher value package & spend more.... while the new 5Gb package = R599, same price.
Or the lower package which is similar to what I have, 3Gb = R449, which is what I'd much rather take.
Staying on the existing R599 for 3.5Gb will be stupid, so voluntarily forced to go higher, to get a price/mb reduction, since we can't go lower :-(
Going to the higher cap will only make sense if there is data rollover (more than 1 month)
The director whos account I manage doesnt use all the megs on the current package, so loose each month...
muf muf muf... u know how it is - can't satisfy everybody :D

@ambo, are you reading all the posts?

Take a look at what CeeBee posted then even you should be able to understand what a screwup this company is.

If you do not agree then please tell us how the older subscribers gain considering some do NOT want extra bandwidth, what some want is LOWER costs.

some of us might want to pay less for the same bandwidth...

and some of us might be unaware that thanks to the accounting dept's awesomeness that our accounts are in arrears and will then be, per ibursts stupid law, be unable to migrate onto the new package...

i've had it too many times in the butt to believe any "goodness" that iburst delivers...

Let's just say iBurst go ahead and change the prices without telling anyone. How long would it take you realise you have either more bandwidth or the price has changed?

well provided they change the bandwidth meter too... within 24 hours... and the moment they think about debiting my account because my bank knows to check first before allowing anything from wbs...

i won't tolerate their accounts department debiting more than they're allowed...

Well you're safe these are only rumors. I still don't understand why people moan about getting more bandwidth for less money?
