I received my April invoice on email and saw that they are still charging R599 (month-2-month). So I replied asking them about the new pricing and that they need to change my invoice.

Last night I got the another email from accounts@iburst giving me the same invoice!!

THEY did state a price deduction right???

Snap!

These idiots have no idea do they?

yeah I was also under the impression the new rates were effective from 1 April, also got the Apr invoice with the usual charges...
Guess it was just a rumour.... :) :(

... its still March?

Have already paid for March, these invoices are for April, therefore theoretically anyway, should reflect the reduced prices, but knowing iBurst, they will say that while the rates are reduced on the 1st April, they will only reflect on the May invoice or some bull***** excuse.

... its still March?

yes, but the invoice is for April's service....
so IF the price changes are supposedly from 1 April -> surely that should be reflected on the April invoice for April's service?
Unless of course we are just looking at it the idiot way... and the prices will come into effect 'during' April, so changes will reflect from May?
Still no mention of any changes on iBurst websites, re package pricing

I am still waiting for official confirmation on this but it would appear that you have to make a migration request to move onto the new pricing plans.

And when where iBurst planning on telling their clients?

This company is run by a bunch of *removed multitude of expletives*

w e i r d !
that sounds like a bum idea ... I understood the packages changed... not just new ones added, so u have to accept the new package, CANNOT stay on existing package as it won't exist anymore?
Like the dude says... perhaps it wud be good idea iBurst communicate this with their customas....
They have a very weird sense of 'customer service' !

If the migration is done like they handle their accounts then I see a hard time for all of us. Can anyone get confirmation of the price decrease?

Noob question here...

I read the earlier article about the price change but it only mentions the month-month costs & im assuming the price cut applies to contracts as well? and if so how much would those be assuming the quoted price in the article is month-month and therefore less?

I asked a friend @ tradepage and that was the first word he heard of any price reductions. Maybe that was a business trick to get new customers/keep old customers... Who knows??

I have just phoned the accounts department at iBurst and the lady told me that they (the accounts department) still do not know about the new pricing schedules. The lady that took my call did confirm that should any new packages come into play then credit notes would be passed, but she couldn't confirm on the timing thereof.

I then asked to speak to a manager who could then confirm whether the price reductions will continue. The manager phoned me back and stated that "New pricing has not been formally launched" and that the articles on www.mybroadband.co.za was a leak.

She also stated that they will go on workshops\training within the following one or two weeks which should explain to them how the new packages will look and work, as well as how the transferring to the new packages will be handled (Upping your MB or lowering you invoice).

Basically what I get from this is that there is no formal price reductions from iBurst yet. We should see credit notes being passed as soon as it becomes formal (If your specific package requires a reduction on invoice value, instead of an upping of MB).

Oops, I hope mybroadband doesn't get a phonecall from iLawyers

It seems I'm missing something here since what has mybroadband have to do with it.

That so-called "leak" was reported by IOL not mybroadband

System Rollover and Accounts Billing probably are not related. So they implement a new system from the 1st of April, but any invoicing done before that time is unaffected by the change. So you should really be looking at May invoices. I get my invoices on the first of every month for that month. I will look when i get my one for April on the 1st of April, but I'm not really expecting anything until May.
I've also had it where Scooters Pizza had a special and some guy sold us the token cards and the Scooters down the road didn't know anything about it. They phoned the franchise head office who confirmed someone jumped the gun and the tokens would only come into effect the next month. So these things do happen. Give it time.
They're finally doing what little they're planning to improve the service they offer, give them a break, let them do it.
