New Saol.com ADSL Pricing

So what you're saying is that all the other providers, are going against telkom's terms and conditions and are therefore not legitimate ?

Would be pretty risky for an ISP to breach the conditions, wont it?

It seems that way h0ll0w - I will get confirmation from our Telkom representative this morning.

As far as I know, Telkom are governed by an ICASA PSTN license which forces them to offer all ISP's the same terms and conditions - if they are found to be uncompetitive they are liable for huge fines.

My personal opinion (and not necessarily that of saol.com) is that most the ISP's are pushing the envelope on their Telkom contracts and basically being forced to go against the Telkom terms and conditions just to stay competitive.

Once I get a final word from management I'll be able to confirm the concurrent connections and effect of being capped on our saol.com accounts - hopefully a little later today.

What do you get for being "loyal" to an ISP though? At the end of the day, R150 is quite a big saving..

It is... but damn man.. Axxess have been really really good. Not that WA aren't of course.

Just to correct some previous inaccuracies regarding saol.com's ADSL offerings :

1. 2 concurrent sessions are allowed, not 1 as reported earlier.
2. Once your cap is reached, only international traffic is capped - local traffic is still available at best effort speeds.
3. 5 Mailboxes are offered with all ADSL accounts.

The are no contracts involved and the offer is available until further notice on a month to month basis - basically until Telkom institute their new billing structure.
