New small suv (2020 recommendations)

T-Cross does not belong here lol. Its a polo on stilts. Very cool little car, but pointless if practicality is what you after.
I own a renault. My wife has a tiguan. The tiguan is better built and nicer to be in than a renault.
Granted i have a clio.
 
T-roc is Golf platform. Hardly offroad capable.
 
My understanding is that Golf platform means its based on the hatchback. MQB is an architecture with many versions. Yes, you can make an offroad SUV on MQB, but specifically, if it's the Golf Platform, it means it uses the same undercarriage as a Golf.
 
The new Rav4 pricing was just released, you could get a demo towards the end of the year or early next year.
 
I vote tiguan. Sit in and drive one. also, fuel consumption is insanely good. but im biased because i chose it over others myself :P
 
Since I will only be driving the car for 2 years after which my Wife will take it over I am definitely leaning towards the Tiguan as I think it is a compromise for us both. Will still test the new Rav 4 but think it might be a stretch for the wife
 
I think you are set on the Tiguan from long ago, so if you are comfortable with it, just get it.
I can say that the CX5 diesel is a better one, but I dont think you can get one under R400k

No, I think that's not correct.
 
Just took my car in for a service and while waiting checked out the Renault Koleos. Car seems really decent and pretty well priced, anyone own one?

I had 3 of the older ones. Haven't driven the new one yet though. They look quite good.

The motor is a bit outdated though but it's reliable. Fuel consumption is where it falls behind. The old ones in manual were around 10l/100km and the CVT 4x4 a bit over 12.

So it's heavier on fuel than my Q3 2.0 TFSI Quattro and definitely is a fair bit slower... As far as I know, the motor is still the same.

If that's the case, then you just need to decide if it's fuel consumption and power bugs you or not. If it doesn't, it's a great option.
