Hi,

I have a Pioneer VSX-D509 A/V Receiver.
My speaker system that I am currently using is k*k.

I'd like to upgrade the speakers. What would you guys recommend?
My budget is around R10k.

I thought about upgrading the receiver too, but my logic tells me to rather spend all the cash on the speakers, as my receiver still has all the capabilities needed to run a full 5.1 system (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Thanks in advance for the advice!

EDIT: Forgot to add - if you could also advise where in Gauteng to buy the speakers from, that would be great, as Hifi corp has rubbish...

IMHO your best best is the Monitor Audio BX2 5.1 set. They are on "special" from remedytech at the moment for R9500 IIRC.

I was considering them very strongly until I decided to up my budget a little bit. And they look awesome too in my opinion. :)

I'm probably going to get the KEF 2005.3 (egg speakers) at R9,990.00 and pretty highly rated.

I'd avoid AR, BOSE and B&O ... But that's just my opinion. AR used to be an awesome speaker, but have sadly gone down.

The other two are more show than go IMO

So what's the verdict alkit..?
You could always arrange with remedytech to audition the speakers for you...?

Ya, definitely going to look into those suggestions and give remedytech a call. Just packed with work these next few days, so might take a bit of time to get round to doing it :(.

... that's other the option ;)

Maybe take a listen to the KEF and B&W and let us know your thoughts?

Hi Sorry should have said .
I meant the MT 25 in particular, anybody running these?
