I am very put off Audi, had a terrible experience with them, had to send an email to audi germany before I saw any traction. Sold the car 3 weeks after they fixed it and got the 320d.
It is one of my concerns with Subaru, i have heard very mixed after sales service reviews
Never a good thing to hear. Luckily I've had no issues with them so far, and on the Audi thread most seem very happy with service.. Perhaps it was an issue with a crappy branch?

I will try and find the link, but Subaru was voted best in the country when it comes to service last year, as well as having the highest retention rate of customer in the world.If you are in JHB, there are three dealerships, KZN two, Cape Town 2, and then PE, EL and George - no reason for that to be a factor in putting you off.
Out of interest, 1 or 2 dissatisfied customers will make more noise than the 98 happy ones, so it also depends who you speak to when it comes to service on any brand/dealership.

Look I have owned my Scoob for 12 years. Dealership maintained.
The N/A models go forever and there is minimal issues on repairs.
The turbo models do give issues. Subaru now hold the service plan and warranty backup.
Prior to this it was with motorite and they were very sticky. This lead to many unhappy customers. Even brake pad replacement was an issue. And if you needed new brakes earlier than the schedule, it was for your account, without a prorata figure. It you did not fit it at the dealership, they threatened you with suspension of warranty. Those issues have been resolved.

Yes, there were hassles when Maintenance was handled by Motorite - thank heavens those days are over and it's all controlled by Subaru SA now.
Wasn't just the branch with Audi. After I escalated to Germany, I got a call from the plant here. The women on the phone was so rude (she was obviously upset I escalated to Germany), but in the end I told her fix the car and I will sell it, your service sucks all she could say was 'Fair point', wasn't too bothered.
After sharing my story with some people, it has convinced 12 people who were thinking of buying an audi to rather buy BMW or Mercedes.

I wish they had stuck a bit more to the WRX Concept look. That thing promised a lot and in the end we get a watered down product. Quite disappointing

Yes - CVT is 469 and the outgoing STi was 599, so no price change. There may be other cars at that price but very few that can match the WRX, in particular, when it comes to AWD and performance, for that price.
IMO a subaru is a car you buy with your heart, not your head. Its not the sensible choice. Its either you want one, or you dont. Think VW Beetle
