Hi there.

I got a Vodacom tablet as a gift.
Moddel Number: VFD 1100
Android Version: 6.0

It seems that the tablet has internal memory of 8GB. I have added another 8GB and formatted it as internal memory.
The problem now is that it says that there is not enough memory to install available updates. I have even merged the external and internal.
What do I need to do for the tablet to treat the added memory as part of the phone and to install updates without error messages?

Thank you.

Upload a screenshot of Settings > Storage. Not every Android phone/tablet is the same and some have splitted internal storage so you'll have to move apps to the SD card (internal memory).

Thank you so very much for your reply. Please find screenshots attached. Interestingly enough all three screenshots were saved on my SD-card.

Yeah as you can see your internal storage is almost full (3.29GB used of 3.74GB = 0.45GB free (rest of 8GB is used for the OS probably)) so you'll need to move applications to the SD card. Go to Settings > Apps and then look for the bigger ones to move first like games etc.

EDIT: Doesn't seem like format as internal storage worked. You'll need a class 6/10 sd card for it work I think.

Thank you very much. I grabbed the closest card I could find. Seems I will need to fork out some money for a good one.

Thank you for your advice and help.

Thank you very much. I checked and noticed that I do have Class 10. I have moved some apps to the card and that freed up some space.

Thank you once again.

Have you tried it in another device? -if it does get picked up ... retry it in you tablet...if still not being picked up, reformat in another device...and see if you have any joy. Occasionally my device spits out an SD error as well, -my SD is on the older side of young, -eject and re insert does the job.
