Demo? What do you mean? How?
I've decided to wait another month and spring for:
Canon EOS 750D DSLR with EF-S 18-55mm IS STM Lens
Orms: R8,995.00
I'm saving up for a 70D,as soon as I'm finished saving up for a gas stove...
Go with that.
- A kit (includes EF-S 18-55mm lens + EF 75-300mm DC lens)
I would argue the opposite. The kit lenses are actually great for the learning the basics of photography. And since they're about R3,000 each if purchased separately, they're actually very good value for money when bought as a bundle.I would personally go body only and spend the rest (and a bit more if you can) on a decent lens.
The kit lenses are not rubbish by any means but once you get the hang of things you will get glass fever anyway.

Oh, you just want to make me jealous. No thanks.

600D twin lens bundle at Takealot for R4,999

Saw this too and thought of the OP, might as well buy it just to flog the 70-300 to put towards something better.
If OP can get R2,000 for it, then they have ±R5,000 towards a quality lens (budget ±R7,000 IIRC).
Hi Satanboy,
Have you bought your camera yet? If so, what did you end up buying?
I'm in the exact same situation as you were a few months ago and I'm currently looking at buying your option 2 with a possibility of selling the 75-300mm kit lens due to it being non IS.
It's either Option 2 or the 600D with an 18-55mm lens for 5k on Takealot.
I'm a complete noob too.![]()
I had a number of unexpected expenses so have not made my purchase as yet. I still want the 750D.
