I have installed the latest Ubuntu Linux on my PC. Does anyone have a website where I can go to learn Linux? :)

sudo rm -rf .

Let's do this!

From what I understand Ubuntu doesn't let you do that.

As for OPs question - with modern distros there's not much to learn.

You will very rarely have to drop to the console for anything.

That's not really the dangerous one. Depending on which directory you're in. "." means current directory and ".." mean parent directory in UNIX. The scary one is "rm -rf /*"

No need trying to brick the guy's machine. What you want to do with n00bs is give them a little scare, that wat they'll come back for more!

Doesn't allow you to do what? Whack a directory and all contents?

Also depends what you are doing on the machine. If you're a dev/power user you inevitably end up in the console.

Never had the balls to try that... /eyes colleague's machine

I was watching a youtube video where a guy had a bunch of VMs and ran all the commands one shouldn't run to see what happens.

Most of the time I use the console to install software and edit sources.list on fresh Debian installs, If you want to master Linux, you first need to master the Console.

The best way to learn Linux is to just Jump right in.

There is this youtuber by the name of Nixxie Pixel (shes a hot readhead) who normally gives tips on what to do after you have just installed linux. She personally uses Mint but it should be the same

She has not made videos in over a year due to illness.
