New Vodacom contract in time for MNP

MNP wont make a really big difference until people start porting, once subscribers start moving and MNO's start to see activity from MNP then only will they truly react.
 
Yeah, but this is a good initial sign. More competition, more choices for consumers: these are the reasons we need MNP.

When my contract expires (05/08) I will certainly be shopping around.

Same here, the reception on one of the phones here is shocking. Keeps on dropping my calls.

Choice is good.

I'll move to any of the current 3. I say everyone move around and show these milkers that the customers are not their right.

I'm with Voda. Between me and my wife we have three contracts (2 voice, 1 data) all with Vodacom.

I'll look at what's available when my contract is up. I hardly use my cell, I don't think I've ever paid more than the basic subscription, and I'm on a Weekender plus (I think).

Look, I'm not unhappy with Vodacom, but I think that a little competition and mobility is good for everyone.

And, I'm really impressed with Cell C's MNP ads - they manage to put a face on the telecom-geek concept of MNP.
 
This new contract seems to be the same as MTN's MyChoice 75
 
I have a vodacom and mtn contract, but both only due to expire in 2008 :-(
Edit: When the time comes, MNP will give me the chance to vote with my debit order...

chiskop, yeah Cell C MNP ads are brilliant :p I've watched them several times now and still find them hilarious :p
I keep missing the opening lines though, for the most part! :(

The ad is good. But what is the actual service like?
 
Done the calcs in the company.

Due to the sky high interconnect charges between Vodacom. MTN and Cell C, it would be too expensive to use MNP.

It would require a package saving of at least R50 per contract per month to break even on staff calling other staff members. The contracts are terminating wide spread over the next 20 months.

We are with VC, and currently the majority (70%) of all cellular calls are VC-VC.

MNP is a dud for us - unless VC starts dropping its contract rates.

No need for this contract to tie us in - but it is nice as an "increase" incentive for staff.

Yeah, the new ad from Cell C were they use a 082 number is brilliant.
I'm on Vodacom and can't wait to change, I always have problems with Customer Service, the phone only rings and rings.
I hear Cell C is not much better. Wait up to 45-60min for an operater!:mad:

Why not try Virgin Mobile?
 
That's the clincher I reckon, try it because you can.

Personally I think the Virgin packages are sweet, my wifes due for an upgrade in a month or two, so guess what . . . .
