New Vodacom website still being fixed up

Well, it's not like the old Vodacom4me was a functional star, but agreed, the new one is surprisingly more useless.

Uys added that they are doing everything in their power to resolve the problems, and they have doubled the resources allocated to their portal to speed up the process

"...everything in their power"? Seems Vodacom is pretty powerless!!

You don't need to be a maths wizard to figure the following out:
Zero resources -> Pathetic website
2 x zero = ZERO (double = 2x in case Vodacom doesn't understand it!)
ZERO resources -> Still a pathetic website, hence "...there aren’t too many visible changes addressing the problems which are listed by users". (I take offence at the word "users" - shouldn't it rather be "victims"?

And on the landing page the following BS is still sprouted "This section features all the functionality from the old Vodacom4me site."

I had to access it the other day to find information on the various data bundles they offer. Couldn't find them at all. I had to call 111 to get info on data bundles where I should of got this from their website! Poor design IMO!

So now they have TWO programmers on the job?

Ditto! Nothing on any of the menu's and I eventually gave up on the search feature. Guess what Vodacom. Bad website = 1 x lost sale from me..

That's what happens when you use ****ty programmers. Rather spend those millions on a decent company to do the job FFS.

their new website is useless, this issue has been going on for a while now. Surprised they haven't fixed it yet.

"Uys added that they are doing everything in their power to resolve the problems".... always worries me when people say they are doing 'everything' in their power to fix something, and it clearly takes an extreme amount of time to get it fixed.... either it is one big mutha of a problem, or dare we say that u are powerless? .... or.... u are making promises that the guys who are actually doing the work, can't keep :-)

too soon? they have been at it for the last 4 years, changed vendors and infrastructure a few times and hiring (insert suited-up >R1500/per hour consultant company name here) without defined milestones will land up in disaster. they should have pulled the plug on the new development two years ago.

The infrastructure and software licensing thrown against that portal is the equivalent of the IT-spend of a small european country ;-)

The comments here are hillarious! Thanks for making my day. :D

I think Vodacom should pull the plug on this "new web site", convert back to the old one for the holiday season & start fresh in 2011.

Glad they are burning their fingers. Its always a case of someone wanting something in before a magical date in order to get their R500,000 bonus for that year. Well this will teach them not to do it again.
