New Washing Machine

Couple of comments. Whirlpool are leaving South Africa, new company taking over. Bosch is very good, but also made in Turkey, much like the Defy machines from Arcelik. Arcelik also makes Beko which has major market share in the UK and a few other places and will be in SA soon. Grundig also belongs to Arcelik of Turkey. Having said that, we are also a Bosch family. We bought from Davenport in Craighall who have superb service.

I had an unfortunate incident with a Whirlpool oven a few years back and never managed to get the correct replacement part despite trying 6 or 7 times with Tecsa. Whirlpool support was useless so I made a plan with R15 worth of Builders Warehouse nuts, bolts and washers. The experience put me off Whirlpool products.
Bosch is worth the premium. The tumble dryer was faulty. They arrived within 2 days to inspect the machine, ordered a replacement part & was fixed within the following 3 days.

That sucks, didnt realise they are exiting SA. Have a Whirlpool washing machine & dishwasher.

Had a Samsung 6kg eco bubble for a good 6 years, recently replaced it with a 13kg Hisense toploader, mainly cause 6kg was struggling to do bedding.

Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions, Bosch is my preferred brand at the moment, just not sure what features I should look out for specifically? I'll go to Stax in Dunkeld tomorrow to have a look at this and what else they have, I am more inclined to buy larger capacity to prevent my girlfriend from overloading the machine...

Bought a 8kg Bosch front loader last year and works perfectly. Paid about R 6000 on a special and I am sure a saw it very recently at about same price. I dont now if the 1kg extra capacity on that 9kg one justifies the price premium you have to pay.

So weird to see Samsung hate on here. My Samsung washing machine is going strong after 9 years, not a single bit of maintenance. If that isn’t reliable, then I don’t know. Who here has a Bosch that equals that?

For large items that 1kg will make a big difference.

All the washing machine you will ever need.. uses no electricity...

My Samsung washing machine is 20 years this year.. 8kg..had to replace pump connection thingy 2 years ago at R500.. Still going strong..

depending where you are if you are interested in a samsung top loader i can do you a deal, we bought one in haste when our old one was giving us hassles, but we don't really have the space for it and went back to a front loader, used it like 5 times, still in warranty.

edit: this one : https://www.game.co.za/game-za/en/All-Game-Categories/Appliances/Washing-Machines-&-Tumble-Dryers/Washing-Machines/9kg-Top-Loader-Washing-Machine-White/p/00674803

Thanks for the offer but we aren't able to make use of a top loader and I have found a far cheaper solution to the issue.
