Hi all - sorry for not replying sooner... the 'notify me of replies' option I ticked on this thread seems to have stopped 'notifying' me.
The Web Intact website is down as it is being replaced - as it was rightly said earlier, the old one was cr*p... It has been re-designed by a competent developer and will be far more informative than the last.
We are by no mean bust - what the new team have been doing is re-building the network to our new RF standards, and already the call center records have come down from about 20 - 30 calls a day to 1 - 5 from the areas we have already done (JHB, Midrand, Centurion & PTA). We have a new level of service, and yesterday received our first 'thank you' call from a satisfied customer who was about to cancel. People always call when something is wrong, but hardly ever when all is ok, so we believe we're doing something right.
We are also focusing on VoIP systems for new developments around the PTA and Hartebeestpoort areas. We also plan to take our service into the townships around JHB.
captainwifi - do you want to make an appointment to see our ICASA type-approval certificate and VANS licence? You can come and see us in our new offices in the UUnet building from next week if you like - 113 Bowling Ave, Woodmead, JHB.
On that subject - can you tell me how 'anyone' can provide connectivity over Wimax under the current regulations?
And on the debit order issue - the risk extends both ways - we offer a month to month subscription if you buy the equipment, and previously (before we joined) Web Intact was operating on a collection system. Payments were sporadic, so we changed it over to a debit order system. This way, we are assured of payments by subscribers. I can't defend MWeb, and I too have had situations when debit orders were not stopped after cancellation. I can only say I hope this never happens with us.
caspa - sorry, but Durban is only servicing one clients' VPN at the moment. It will be expanded in due course, and I will post here when it is.
