New Xbox 360 S pricing and availability details

I'm not sure I'd buy an Xbox 360 now ...

I could be wrong, but gut tells me it's reached maturity already and probably 70% through it's life. It's a little pricey

I had the same reservations. It seems the PS3 is only now really taking off with more titles < R200 (Got BFBC2 for R200 at Musica & BFBC1 at BT for R99)

Also its BlueRay, something the new XBox should have done

Agreed, i still dig my Xbox though. PS3 here i come ;)
 
Geez, why is Kinect so expensive? I could swear PS3 Move is like half the price last i checked? The Starter kit for like R600 , and Kinect like R1999 ? huh?

As it is, Xbox 360 is now pretty much getting more expensive than PS3 in all aspects -AND- the Xbox Live is both not supported and requires a subscription....so methinks a PS3 is a better deal now.

Prices are all over the show, but here http://www.btgames.co.za/bt/hardware.asp . You can see you can get the PS3 320GB + MOVE [the equivalent of Kinect] for R3899 . Now on the very same page the Xbox 360 250GB + Kinect = R4299 . So the prices are pretty much getting equal and NOT cheaper. The PS3 was always priced at about R4000 , the Xbox wasn't .
 
This is so typical, I swear people from overseas probably think we South Africans are use to nothing. Why sell the 4GB Slim (Basically the Arcade) for a RRP of R2400? It still costs $199 in the US. Is it because the dollar has dropped by almost R3 since these prices where last reviewed. I swear this whole middle man system we use here in South Africa, it's going to be the death of our economy.

I dunno about that, checked the recent titles released and it's all the games that's also available on 360, and as we know, 90% of multiplats are noticeably better on the 360. There's still a lot of good reasons to go for a 360 instead of PS3, if you had to choose only one.

I think it all depends on what your looking for if only buying one. In my case I was about to purchase a Blu Ray player too and decided for R2K more I can get a console.

Sure, the XBox has cheaper titles but I'm saying way more PS3 titles becoming more affordable. I think this is great as the only real solution is to have all platforms, heck I still got my PS2 plugged.
