Either they are already members of Newshost (joined back when they were still taking new members), or they are using a different local site to get their "research material".

lol after enough forum lurking/stalking I finally got in on the big news server secret lol - just go use the search function and you'll be okay :) The hardest bit I think would be finding a site still open to registrations... but again if you lurk enough you'll eventually stumble upon it ;)

Here's a tip for those looking for an invite to newshost and who have local after cap on an account where TelkomInternet is their ISP:

Before you get capped, go over to www.newzleech.com and grab the NZBs for all the files you would like to grab. Queue them all up in your favorite binary grabber (be it GrabIt, AltBinz, etc) until your queue roughly matches your local cap (I'd queue max 9.5 GB on a 10 GB local cap) then, 5 or 6 days before month end cap your account and start grabbing. Or even start grabbing before you get capped, either way works.

The only thing is that you will need to run your downloads at night (from 18h00 to 0800) and on weekends to get full speed but that's good because it then also makes use of electricity at off peak times.

That is much easier than getting an invite to NewsHost only to find out that they don't have what you are looking for. I have nothing against NewsHost, it's an awesome service and is indispensable if you are on IS but they only have so much - they do not have NZBs for every file that you may want.

IE Get over NewsHost, it's great but if you aren't in - who cares, make your mission in other ways, it is possible ;)

Sorry for sounding like such a noob but how much local am i allocated a month on a Telkom 3gb account.also once i am capped will i be able to access newzleech.com ? it looks like pretty straight forward site but im at work and il test it when i get home.if it is that easy (which im sure it is not) you have been the most helpful chap in ages :D

You have 30GB local after cap. Newzleech is not available after cap, unless you access it through http://www.za-portal.co.za/webproxy/ which usually actually works but I'm not sure how much longer it's going to be around...

It is easy BUT it also takes some trial and error, be ready to waste a few gigs of local on testing things, and take the time to read guides online about PAR files
 
Okay, firstly to clear the air, i am not looking for an invite :)
Just looking for clarity on how it works.
Does it fool the ISP that you are downloading local?
And if I did download the NZB files from the site suggested above is it similair in form to Vuzi or bitspirit etc.
Lastly and this is more important to me, speed wise, I normally do torrents using Vuzi. Just how much slower is the newhost or whatever it is called?
Again, please, please no invites :p

Use the search function and look for a sticky relating to this.
ALL of the information you need is in there and every question can be answered from those threads.

lol they do....im just interested in how this whole newshost LOCAL cap works.i work in IT but i shouldnt be in IT cause i am hating everything about it....lol. im sure the 30 movies i get a week are from you guys and then they get spread like wildfire....lol.
its just more interesting to know and it just seems more secretive than anything ive seen....but ya its all good

NZBZA not working so well for me. First I try log in after I regisered and activated. Nothing happens, click recover password ... suddenly I'm logged in and it asks me to chane my country. So I click profile, then get this:

Not Found

The requested URL //usercp.php was not found on this server.
