Newsreader with scheduled downloading (linux)

Sounds like a better cron .......... He doesn't want to use cron, therefore that one ought to be ruled out. BTW fcron is also available :-)
 
Sanzbd is perfect. i just needed a gui for the odd time when i had to rely on someone with less than ideal knowledge of linux to schedule for me. Cheers for the sugestions
 
+1000 for Sabnzbd. Can check my download progress from anywhere with internet access :)

Queue up your downloads and you good to go. Sickbeard comes with scripts for sabnzbd, put them in the scripts folder and everything is automated. Recently lost quite a substantial amount of data, busy restoring it:

My Sister in Law, has asked me to get Haven and Warehouse 13, for her.

What sort of directory structure, is recommended or makes the most sense when running sanzbd/sickbeard/couchpotato.

Got a linux Atom box I want to run this on.

Otherwise this is going to be a real PIA to do.

I don't watch TV/movies/serials ...
 
I think there is one somewhere, but its old.

This is the basic folder structure I use, I just pointed to to the locations and Sickbeard/Couchpotato create the structure

For movies:
Code: 
-movies
  -"movie name"

for tv
Code: 
-Series
  -"show name"
     -Season 01
     -Season 02

I used to separate hd fron sd, but now I only download HD where I can so the odd sd movie just goes in the same folder as the others
Besides the folder structure makes little difference with plex as you end up sorting everything any way you want anyway.

For movies I would recommend this format:

Code: 
-Movies
   -movie name (year)
      movie name (year)

You should most definitely include the year as you get a bunch of movies with the same name.
 
Okay, got this working it seems - at least I got an episode of Haven downloaded, but it is password protected. The link to the password does not get a page loaded.

This is becoming a real schlep, going to tell my Sister in Law too ...

Yea the year is important, but CouchPotato adds it to the name.
 
Re - installed my torrent client and it is now downloading - wish I knew why tho.
