Next iOS version could drop support for iPhone SE

Custom ROMs are fine for people who want to muck around with their device. I'm not interested in wasting my time hunting for the right hacked version to install.

The drive to keep people upgrading and generating more electronic junk is a widespread problem. Apple have no excuse for any contribution they make to the problem, but they're hardly unique.

Lol yet most Android apps still support Android Lollipop that came out in 2014.
There is nothing stopping you supporting very old versions of iOS. The developers choose what minimum version to target. If they insist on the latest version that is not Apple's fault. Any company that tells you Apple forced them to support only the latest version of iOS is either lying or their technical people are ignorant.

I'm not understanding the questions? Personally, I'm rather happy with a new phone every 2 years.
I even like the fact that I can take my 2 year old iphone to the istore and get a pretty decent discount on my new iphone.
It's unnecessary waste. That you're spoiled is not relevant.

It is ridiculous that it becomes difficult or impossible to get new batteries for otherwise perfectly usable devices.

let me remind you how your beloved Apple treats old devices.

completely artificial and unnecessary, all to add to the bottom line, and its deliberate, not necessary in the slightest.
Old news. It's been years now since they went in the opposite direction. New versions being faster on older devices.

How exactly is that unnecessary waste? The istore services and refurbs the 2nd hand phones and resells them at discounted price, plenty people buy these 2nd hand phones. I'm not sure what is being wasted here?
